  • How do I learn to control my temper when online?

astagfirullah I have done horrible things on other websites besides ummah.com.....on yahoo answers, I made an archnemesis whose screen name is "Israel is Forever" who has made insults about my mental health and called for me to commit suicide, so I have responded by reporting his posts en masse, all the while writing the reason for reporting including an insult to his mother, sister, etc. and in comments on his answers or mine, we get into fierce arguments with each other, and I have told him sexual insults about his mother, about him, told him I hope he burns in a oven or gets gassed to death "like his ancestors", and swore at him using the most vulgar language....the problem is, yahoo answers is a self moderated site (hence why I report his posts en masse)....I have also told him I "hope he gets beheaded" and just today sent him a private message telling him to kill himself by drinking bleach....on other sites, like facebook or good plus, in the past (but not anymore) I have sent pornographic shock urls to various islamophobic journalists and politicians such as sean Hannity, Pamela geller, and Benjamin Netanyahu....I don't want to do this, but when I get on these sites, my anger toward the enemies of Islam overwhelms me....what should I do?

SubhanAllah thats one bad temper you have
I tend to lose my temper when im driving and i know the reason used to be because i listened to music, so i stopped that and I'm way more calm
Akhi idk if you listen to music and i dont need to know but i advise you to trade it for quran recitation
If you already dont listen to music which would be greatbut then you need to find what it is that lays at the base of your anger, try to make yourself count to 10 before you act, also try to realise that your tenper affects you more then it does the other person, it upsets you frustrates you etc while the other just says "lol look at this dude" and then think to yourself would the prophet say things like this? Or if i was a companion would i not be ashamed to behave like this in front of him saws? Last of all realise that your akhlaq is a big form of dawah, you can use it positively or negatively.

O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous

Re: How do I learn to control my temper when online?

My brother what flames must burn inside you.

İ think one great thing that can help you is to continue to develop your insight. Allah swt put you in situations for a reason, puts people on your path to test you. Of course Allah azza wa jall will bring shaitans to you to see how you react! Why do you not see that? The more online you are, the greater the chance that happens. You cannot even verify these people exist, that these people have souls even. Sad, lowlife people use the internet to reject people because of the inner rejection they feel inside. İf you understood people more, you wouldnt have this anger.

Continue your education on people in general, stay in the moment and reflect about these peoples intentions, drink cold water to kill the fire physically within, take a cold wudu, walk away, our lives are very short my brother they arent worth a second of your expensive time. Stay off websites that make you feel destructive, keep working on your adab (manners) this is what we all must do! Doing these types of revenge-esque things that you are doing is not something that makes me smile bro, while İ may agree with your ideology thats not what is making us Muslims proud of you. Honor us all by being better and smarter than these people who make you angry. Being your best self every single day is what makes me smile.

You are too smart to do stupid stuff like that my brother, dont lower yourself like these people who are worse than animals. You are a Muslim and I dont want to see us honoring you more than you honor yourself.

Maybe you should not get on these sites in the first place.
