"The issue of Takfeer is one of the most dangerous issues at the moment. A lot of the youth has fallen into it without knowledge. They fail to see that this is only for great scholars of Islam to address and not to laymen.

When you give takfeer to a specific individual, this means that you have ruled that he is not to be prayed on or buried in Muslim cemeteries. He is not to be inherited and you judge him to be eternally in hell!

Ibn Taimiyah said:

Compare this to those who give takfeer to individuals, guaranteeing that they are in hell and follow that with killing them and spreading chaos and destruction!"

Keyboard knights are relentless in giving takfeer without possessing the knowledge of the essentials of Islam, let alone the sciences of Tafseer, Aqeedah and Usool.

It was reported in Saheeh Muslim that one of companions once asked: Where is Malik bin Dukhshun? Another commented: He is a hypocrite; he does not love Allah and His Messenger.

Thereupon the Messenger of Allah salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said: Do not say so about him. Don't you see that he utters La ilaha ill-Allah and seeks the Face of Allah through it?

They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. We see his inclination and well-wishing for hypocrites only.

The Messenger of Allah salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam again corrected them by saying:Verily Allah has forbidden the Fire for one who says: There is no god worthy of being worshiped but Allah, thereby seeking Allah's pleasure”.

This Hadeeth illustrates the dangers of giving takfeer to Muslims. No one has the right to judge people’s intentions or their actions without fulfilling the conditions and making sure there are no obstacles. Those who give takfeer to Muslims and slaughter them in a barbaric way thinking they are serving Islam are wrong and misguided. Their actions are contradictory to the teachings of Islam and the way of the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam. They don’t give any weight to the Sunnah and have the audacity to defy the instructions of our Prophet by giving takfeer to Muslims and shedding their blood!

Yes, we're better off looking at our own faults before looking at the faults of others. None of us really know if our Jannah is guaranteed. Only Allah does.

Just pray, spread the truth of Islam and do good works, and help ourselves and each other come closer to Allah , :insha:

And the thing I always say is, if it's not your job, don't do it. It gives you peace of mind. The world is full of garbage individuals, and yes, some of them, maybe even a lot of them, were born Muslim with Muslim names and everything. And maybe some of them are actually kuffar now, it's not impossible. But who here's job is it to make that call, and what exactly do they stand to gain from it? Because they sure have a lot to lose if it turns out that person was still a Muslim, especially when one considers that even the worst sinners if they still said laa ilaaha illallaah may after years in hellfire eventually get out.

The issue raised is in full conformity with today's happenings.Imams who are not addressing it need to be given a wake up call by Masjid administrators (if they at all justify their responsibilities).

I agree some people make takfir at the drop of a hat and that si wrong however Ibn Taymiyyahs quote above is not saying don't make takfir when the conditions are fulfilled

Of course we know that a bad muslim is simply that a bad muslim. But to deny what is known by necessity doesn't hold the excuse of ignorance generally. specifically a new revert can be forgiven but muslims who don't pray at all cant use ignorance as an excuse ie ''I didn't know'' as even kufaar know muslims are meant to pray

In terms of the leaders then this is where most people including sh Asim al Hakeem come into their own, denying what they often themselves preach

It's not just ignorance that plagues Muslims though. It's also a whole bunch of other things as well, like laziness, arrogance, social pressure, etc., to which any human being is vulnerable. Even the more practicing ones. Does that give us the right to give Takfeer, though?

Obviously depends on the specific issue and no one is saying that you don't make excuses for people or advise them etc. But if a guy is saying Allah doesn't exist then to call him kaafir is no issue regardless if his dad is imam of local masjid

As Umar ra said the prophet saw is dead, there will be no more wahi so we judge by the apparent and there can be no blame if we do it sincerely.

The main issue that winds people up isn't even about the average guy in the street anyway. What this debate is about in reality is the Saudi rulers. Those in authority have different rules than the average person. No different than say the son who HAS to use his inheritance to look after his family that are in need or he is sinful but a daughter doesn't

when it comes to leadership and rulers the nullifiers are clear, and even some of those scholars who say you cant do takfir on say the Saudis have done works saying we should call rulers who do certain things kaafir ie do takfir. They changed their minds once Saudi started doing it
