Under a limited scenario it's ok to lie, but otherwise it's not ok.

Be honest and polite and say it the way it is, or make up a valid truthful excuse. Otherwise, carry around some smoke and a few mirrors.

The reply would be be different on what to say to the man. I wouodnt just leave it as no thank you because some men think the woman is playing hard to get. It would have to be something his brain would comprehensive and he wouldn't walk me again. I was thinking the brother didn't wanna hang out that day but maybe in the future. But dance she's a sister. There will be no future Inshallah. And no. Not OK to lie
