Re: Is coffee haram?
Historical fact : Coffee drink was discovered by Muslims!
it was initially used by Sufis so they can stay all night for qiyaamul layl, and for scholars (scientists, writers) so they can keep studying until pass late night.
there was one time when coffee was considered intoxicant by ulemas, and Caliphate banned the coffee shops. but somehow the ruling changed.
and the Europeans used to smuggle the coffee seeds to plant outside the area of Caliphate to their colonial lands, due to political and economic reasons.

Re: Is coffee haram?
I just found out that 'Mocha' is actually a coffee bean from a place called Mocha in Yemen!
I thought it was just a fancy name/type like cappuccino.
