It doesn't say in the Quran about coffee. What about tea (it has caffeine too)

no it is not; coffee was founded by muslims!; the saints used to think how they can stay up all night long to worship and Allah showed one of them in a dream about the coffee plant ...

It used to be haraam a few centuries ago, but ulema changed their stance in it

I just found out that 'Mocha' is actually a coffee bean from a place called Mocha in Yemen!

I thought it was just a fancy name/type like cappuccino.

                    Re: Is coffee haram?

Historical fact : Coffee drink was discovered by Muslims!

it was initially used by Sufis so they can stay all night for qiyaamul layl, and for scholars (scientists, writers) so they can keep studying until pass late night.

there was one time when coffee was considered intoxicant by ulemas, and Caliphate banned the coffee shops. but somehow the ruling changed.

and the Europeans used to smuggle the coffee seeds to plant outside the area of Caliphate to their colonial lands, due to political and economic reasons.

And all the heavens go their way.... And only change is here to stay...

Mocha is coffee and chocolate? Cappuccino is made with frothy milk
