  • Intentions

How does one go about making sure their intention is right or correcting it if you realize it is wrong.
I heard a story about a man who would always try to be in the front row of the masjid for 40 years, then one day he was in the second row and the first thing
he thought to his self was the people are going to see me in the second row rather then "I missed out on a big reward". He realized that for the last 40 years he had been trying to be in first row for all the wrong reasons, apparently this is a form of hidden shirk!

So ever since I heard this story I've become quite scared What if everything I am doing is for the wrong reasons. Is there a specific du'a to make sure that your protected from
having all you deeds be for naught.

Allahumma inni audhubika an ushrika bika wa ana alam, wa astaghfiruka lima la alam.

    It's for hidden shirk.
