  • Are we allowed to listen to stuff like this?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paSt5X7Bf_E

The message itself seems very pure.
I write novels for posts. Beware. :mujahida:

Ummah Forum seems pretty black and white. Was thinking of offering Skittles as Dawah to introduce a rainbow.

I suppose you're right, but the background stuff is actually very tame. It's the voice of the person itself that creates most of the melody imo. I'm just curious. Islamically it seems like you have zilch to listen to. Yet the message and melody here is very pleasant.

        Yea, but it doesn't matter.

I might as well start listening to Tupac again since a lot of his songs sent out a good message. Know what I mean ?

Not really. Comparing this to an expletive ridden and/or non-religious based message is different. I kinda get the gist of what you're saying. Can people recommend some actual Islamic stuff they listen to then?

Lol, I thought we were talking about delivering a good message. Sorry...

Other than nasheeds, I don't know what else there could be.

I'm not aware of the proper Islamic conforming nasheeds it seems. So what requirement must they meet? Nothing but voice? Is that all they can have in them?

I honestly don't listen to nasheeds.

Hopefully someone can give you an answer soon.

                Sorry, Hope.

If you doubt something is halal, it's best to stay away from it. Though hopefully you find an answer.

:jkk: for the advice, but we live in confusing times. Scholars themselves sometimes provide contradictory opinions on some issues.

***Reminder- It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood that RasulAllah :saw: said: Whoever reads Tabaarak allaathi bi yadihi’l-mulk [i.e., Soorat al-Mulk] every night, Allaah will protect him from the torment of the grave.
And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror]. [Quran, 14:42]

                            Sounds like backstreet boys.

Do not invest your hopes in anyone but Allah and do not fear anything but the consequences and repercussions of your sins!
