I never had it or asked for it after someone told me something about it, which I'd rather not type here. You can ask me in PM if you want to know.

                  Re: vitamin D injection

I've had the vit D injections before. Not a big deal. I really dislike needles though so I take a supplement now, but my Dr recommends the injections cos' I have stomach problems that could mean I don't properly absorb the nutrients that I swallow whereas injections more effectively reach the bloodstream. Try to expose yourself to sunlight even if it's just your hands and face (or more if you have privacy in your garden) for 20 minute intervals each day, but don't do it if you're prone to sunburn (eating tomato puree regularly helps prevent sunburn though).

I think you will just have to take some tablets or something to raise your vitamin D levels

Is it because you do not get enough sunlight?

I do not think you will need injections. As neelu said she had stomach problems so it would most likely not absorb properly for her

                        vitamin D injection

                        ^ yup tablets

yup no sunlight for Muslim women (cause we're covered)

ya'sin be careful though, many tablets have gelatin coatings. There is a brand my mum uses that are veggie approved- osteocare it has a mix of calcium, magnesium and vit d in it (I think). That was the only suitable one we could find for her : /

Yes, they are for those with a severe deficiency. For example, here in Pakistan we have Indrop-D liquid which consists of 200,000 IU of Vitamin D3 which can be taken orally or injected.

It is given once every 6 months to correct Vitamin D deficiency.
