  • Interaction with Muslims and non Muslims

    Salaam All

I hope you are all in the best of health. I think I have got to a point in my life where I do not feel I need to socialise with people that much nor do i trust them. I am a simple, very quiet and honest person.
I do not like arguments and confrontations. I do not feel the need to keep justifying or pleasing people.

My question here is how do I not hurt their feelings and keep a distance from them?
"Try to distance yourself from everything that causes you worry and sadness, so that you may always live with peace of mind and an open and tranquil heart, seeking Allah and His worship and working on your worldly and otherworldly matters, for if you try this, you will find rest.

I normally get on with my work, and just ask how they are and if everything is okay.
'Whatever it be wherein ye differ, the decision thereof is with Allah: such is Allah my Lord: In Him I trust, and to Him I turn.' The Holy Qu'ran Al Shura (Consultation)

So, which of the favours of your lord will you deny? ~ Surah Ar Rahman

Be polite I guess and just move on with what you're doing. If they specifically ask you why you don't socialise much, just be honest and say it's cause you're a quiet individual. Most will get the hint you don't want to socialise imo.

I'm more of an extrovert though, and usually introverted only when alone, so don't know if the above would help you, but Inshallah it does.
I write novels for posts. Beware. :mujahida:

Ummah Forum seems pretty black and white. Was thinking of offering Skittles as Dawah to introduce a rainbow.

It is not even that. It's not about being quiet or loud. There comes a time in people's lives where they don't need people full stop.

Well, can't say I know what that feels like, or that I ever will. Sounds lonely though. very lonely. Dunno how people would manage it

Lonely is better than bad company.

I hope i'm never like that. I love my friends and couldn't imagine life without them. It's better to be real than fake, if you don't want to talk to them just avoid them and be silent. If they talk to you just smile and move on. It's not going to hurt them, they might get the clue you want to be left alone.
