      Re: Tips for COLD

My mum says that if you wear many layers of warm clothes and still feel cold, it means you need to be heated up from the inside. In such a situation what she does is that she stirfries a few chopped nuts in half a teaspoon of butter or ghee for a minute, then adds half a mug or a mug of milk, brings it to the boil then sweetens it with a little sugar or honey. If the cold is causing aches and pains, then she'd add a third of a teaspoon of turmeric to the nuts as well. Anyway drinking that should warm you up on the inside.

It's also a good idea to eat really good winter warmer foods like roasted butternut (or other veg) soup and have a good pudding afterwards too.

I know this isn't economical but sometimes when the kitchens been too cold ive turned the oven on.

Also get thick curtains, cover any draught holes etc

Could you not warm one room with an electric heater and stay in there for most part of the day?

        Buy a onesie

You might have to many layers on. It can work the opposite and keep you cold.

                    Tips for COLD

Yes that is what I thought too at first. Then I saw them and my children got them. They keep them warm and are very comfy to wear at home one those nights that are -25 and colder :)

                        Re: Tips for COLD

wow then it must be freezing where you are.

In Finland they wear thermal leggings and socks which helps. They also swim in lakes and go to the sauna so I don't know if that has any relevance!

I agree they look awful and unpractical-how is one supposed to go to the bathroom and do wudhu -you would have to take it all off!

But people assure me they are comfy!

Try wearing thermal vests and leggings, eat porridge, tea, run inside the house....
