  • How are Islamic leaders chosen? Cannot find answer.

Four Righteous Caliphs, there was no consensus on how to choose the leader. Each and every one of the first four Caliphs of Islam became ruler in a different manner.

    Abu Bakr was popular chosen.
    Umar was appointed.
    Uthmaan was chosen by committee.
Ali assumed leadership that never had full support or power.

No one seems to agree how islamic leaders are chosen. Voting is wrong by many Muslims, so how are leaders chosen under Islamic law???

    :salams:

Allah has not sent down any specific order on how to choose a leader.

basically there are four methods, as established by the four righteous kalifs

some may say, we may use other methods

i am pretty sure the point is moot, the next one will be established by the mujahideen and those who oppose will be punished

So how would an Islamic government be instituted? I understand there is shura and bay'ah, but who qualifies to be Amir Al Mumineen and who is qualified to have their opinion considered in shura. What if multiple persons claim to be Caliph? The Ummah is huge. How do we choose a single leader the Muslims agree on?

depends on how it is setup

all of the companions didnt vote, hence we should not make that a requirement, as if we have to follow the ways of the kuffar, into a lizard's hole

does it really matter to us whether obama, romney, blair, or thatcher won

they dont set the policy anyway, so why are we making a big deal of something that really has little to do with us?

you get up, go to work, pay your bills, go home and repeat the next day, no matter who your leader is

And time and time again you get the most useless people in charge. Look at the americans. How could you vote for bush twice. The moron can barely spell. Basically, in some ways your voting system is pointless. As no matter who you vote for they are corrupt and worship the money. So would sell the people out and they will do it by inventing lies and being deceitful.

And by the way the khalifahs ( the leaders) during the best times of Islam when it began were some of the most righteous and honest people in history. You should read up on how they treated their fellow muslims.

But at that time, the people were better islamic wise, so they had the best leaders.

If the muslims of today change, then we will also have leaders like of that time.
