  • Baking your own bread

    :salams

anyone bake their own bread? I'm looking at investing in a bread maker, but not really sure which one to get, reviews on the net seem mixed.

We have baked bread at home since 2011, best thing ever IMO! We have the Panasonic SD2501 breadmaker, not sure how much it costs now, but we got a good price back then as it was on offer! We got this because we use the speciality bread function regulalry so this worked best for us- think about what you will use it for most and use that to determine which breadmaker will be best. We haven't had any major problems with ours alhamdullillah, it bakes well, we use the timer function to have fresh bread ready in the morning and overall would give it a good review! Once you begin eating homemade bread, shop bought will seem completly tasteless and the consisteny of cardboard. Also since you can control what goes into your bread, you can adapt it eg. honey instead of sugar in the recipe or olive oil instead of butter and so on.
          What does 'freedom' mean?

Does the eagle want to swim in the sea,
          Restricted by the sky?

Does the fish want to dance on the wind,
          Not enough river to explore?

Yet the sky is freedom for the bird
          but death for the fish,

The sea is wide for the fish
          but will engulf the bird.

We ask for freedom but freedom to do what?
We can only express our nature as it was created.

The prayer mat of the earth is freedom,
freedom from slavery to other than the One,
Who offers an shoreless ocean of love to swim in
and a horizon that extends to the next life,
Yet we chose the prison and call it freedom.

We don't buy bread from the store. We make home made bread with our neighbors, it taste much better and it's way healthier :)
