Was you sad when you left university

Insha Allah everyone is in the best of health and 'Imaan.

Alhamduliah I just completed the final year of university studying Computer Science. I 've home for a few days, I just feel so strange and weird. I won't lie i really loved university, everything about it, the prayer room, the bound between brothers in the prayer room and around campus, the eating, studying together etc.

I really want to return for a masters, but not having enough money might not let that happen, so sometimes I start thinking about fully funded PHDs, then I think is my intention correct ?

I mean I should be getting on with so much stuff now, like applying jobs, continuing with my Arabic studies etc, but I just have like a empty Sad feeling inside and don't feel like doing anything.

So i was wondering if anyone else experienced something similar ?

Was this the university of manchester that you went to by any chance?

It was manchester metropolitan , also i knew quite a few man uni bros, very nice people.

If you only want to go back for the Phd because of the whole uni experiance and not to better your job prospects etc. then it's best to move on with your life. Saying that, you should defo keep in touch with the bros dude, sounds like they were a decent lot.

Can't wait to get out! After college, life begins.

Now, you have more time to focus on your deen seriously without having to worry about that English paper or Math exam.

I had my best times in college, hanging out with all my buddies studying together, doing halal stuff you know.

Those days you can never get back. It's just work and wifey now which is a different type of fun I suppose.

Even though exams were always stressful so is the working life.

I think I can relate. I've also just finished my final year, Alhamdulillah. Now I'm at home feeling like 'now what?' I spent most of my time alone, so I can't say I missed the social side much but I do miss writing essays and having something to do.

I think as long as you keep yourself busy then it shouldn't be a huge issue. You can volunteer at the mosque, join and help local Islamic organisations/charities etc.

Aim for something bigger now. Maybe, start a halalqa at the masjid? Or some project?

Life's too short to sit and feel sad about the past. Move on, make a difference, innit?

I do miss Uni but I wasn't sad to leave.

Towards the end of my final year I was fed up of the course. Fed up of being skint. Fed up of the job I had at the time. Fed up with living with the people I lived with.

I was glad to be home!

Although overall it's probably been one of the most enjoyable experiences in my life.

I wish I felt the same as you. I could not wait to get out of the doors and never return to the place! But, I miss the socialising aspect of it... Not enough to return :p

The only good thing left about college is the MSA and the brothers. That's it.

That's exactly what I thought. So you can get a degree without being able to conjugate your verbs properly?
