  • What "Work" do you do ?

A person asked Maulana, "What work do you do ?"

Maulana (who is always too busy in learning & teaching Quran + Hadith) replied, "Learning & teaching Deen of ALLAH (Jalla Jalaaluhu)"

He asked again," Ok, but still, what work do you do (in order to earn a living, as religious scholars are rarely paid officially in our country) ?"

Maulana (who had a firm belief that ALLAH (SWT) is the Raaziq not the government) gave the same reply again.

When he asked the same question again, Maulana asked him what work does he do. He replied with pride, "I work in a lab. and test urine samples"

Maulana replied, "You consider testing of urine as work but not teaching Quran & Hadith ?"

ALLAH Subhana wa'ta'aala is not dependent on any government/ organization for conveying anyone's RIZQ. If companies have the self respect to give salary to those who work for them, then why would the MIGHTIEST of ALL, ALLAH not reward those who WORK for HIS DEEN 24/7. If we become a source for conveying RIZQ to scholars, then it became possible only by the grace & mercy of ALLAH that HE blessed us with the honor of serving the inheritors of the Prophet Sallallaahu Aleyhi Wassalam.

After developing friendship with them I realized that in the initial times, they are tested severely through hunger & poverty (in order to raise their degree in the hereafter life). If they remain patient & try their best to keep their poverty secret from common people. A time comes when ALLAH (Swt) solves all their problems through different means, at times beyond our understanding.

Develop friendship with them and you'll know the Divine process that becomes active for them when worldly doors are shut for them :)

        :jkk:

I heard something similar once but it was about people and respect. The Mawlana mentioned that people respect the Dr who studies blood and urine but care little for the one's who study the Quran and Sunnah day and night. The Dr cares only for your physical health, the Ulama are the doctors for our souls and hereafter.
