ive been getting really into islam lately and studying the religion. im born muslim btw but i havent always taken time to read bout my religion. ive been talking ot other muslims about islam related issues tho and people have noticed this and ive been getting into some lengthy debates with non muslims who i hang around with. this hasnt happened before cos i never really talk about my religion at school. my best friend is a non muslim and the group i hang around with only has 2 muslims, me and another girl im close friends with. she isnt in the same class as me, so i cant just stick to her.

lately ive been drifting from the other 3 nonmuslim girls but everything's been tense and awkward especially since my backup is in another class lol. so yeah. ive been close with a group of asian muslims in my class, we've always been good friends, but just not as close as i was with the others. like i said it's really tense and idk do you think ive made the right choice sort of initiating our friendship 'breakup' or was it just unnecessary? :confused: everyone knew me and my non muslim best friend as like the inseparable ones lol. i guess it's a petty thing youd only understand if you were in high school? mehhh idk ive been feeling down about it!

btw my non muslim (ex? lol) best friend has a christian mum and athiest dad who thinks the whole event with the bosnian muslims was a lie made up by muslims themselves, he's a journalist and writes about these things. and he seems to have something against arab/muslim countries too

and the other 2 are agnostic and athiest/socialist

I think it was a good move breaking away from that sort of company. Your best friend's dad seems like an idiot too.

I used to hang around with Atheists who tried to pull me away from Islam, but I ended those friendships fast.

You have made an excellent decision! Learn more about your deen, make your closest friends those who are the best muslims, and still remain polite and civil with others (not at the expense of your deen of course).

We all have just one life to earn jannah, use it well sis!

Yes ukhti it may seem hard at first and you may feel like youre being mean/arrogant etc but those are only waswas from the shaythaan. Keep your faith strong by being around strong muslims.

Sometimes you have to distance yourself from non practising muslims.
