  • What would u have done ?

    Assalaamu alaykum.

So am on the bus to uni , the right seat infront of me has some stuff on it, yellow stuff looks like daal.

So some sister comes and just sits on it. I didnt have the guts to stop her and warn her.

In my defence the girl next to her could of warned her and the sister sat down so fast rocket speed.

Now wen she gets up she has yellow stuff on her thobe.

What wud u hav done ?

LOL at daal, like anyone randomly drops daal on the seat, are you sure it wasn't vomit ?

don't worry about it, her fault for being stupid enough to sit on it, buses have all kinds of crap on seats, like chewing gum etc, you're meant to check before you sit

fingers crossed she didn't find out till she got home..if you had told her she would have been feeling self-concious ..sometimes ignorance is bliss ..she must have got fright when she eventually noticed wondering what it was

I would have told her but I do agree with aadil77, normally most take a gander at the seat . If something like this happens again you would say something so don't fret :)

Re: What would u have done ?

would the good (stopping your fellow muslim possibly ruining her clothes and being ridiculed) outweigh the bad (not supposed to talk to a non mehrem)?

There are two kinds of pride, both good and bad. 'Good pride' represents our dignity and self-respect. 'Bad pride' is the deadly sin of superiority that reeks of conceit and arrogance.

                        salaams to all

this was a necessity, in my opinion.
as someone said, the sister could have become the target of jokes/taunts due to the stains and u should have still told her about it even though she sat down very quickly & did not give you enough time to warn her.
                        just say:
"As salaamu alaikum, just want to let u know that there is something that appears to be dall on your seat -you sat down so fast that i was unable to warn you"

that would be OK- more than that would have been unnecessary & sinful.
all the above is MY opinion based on what i have heard from ulama.

                        and Allah ta'ala knows best
                        jazakallah

trust me i remember wearing a black trenchcoat and getting the shock of my life when i caught sight of myself in a shop mirror...i did a touble take and realised i had a hugeee bird poo on me :(...it was quite funny lol..but seriously i would have preferred one of the sisters i was with said something to me....cos people may have seen it and think...these muslims are disgusting lol. But they said none of them even noticed lol.
