Maybe 0.5% of English people I meet have an accent that remotely resembles true English i.e. received pronunciation (as in speaks each syllable of a word clearly). The remaining 99.5% are so obviously decendants of this guy.

English Accents vary hugely depending on what area you are from.

I met some Muslim kid once from Brooklyn, his accent was so funny/cool. I couldn't stop laughing, but he was also laughing at me, prob the first time he'd heard a Muslim with an English accent. lol

yeah every city in Britain has its own dialect. Most people don't speak received pronunciation. I speak Landan. (that's London for London  ) Not cockney, cause actually there's at least 3 dialects in London itself. Cockney is central London, then you have Norf Landan and Saaaaaahf Landan.

Good Human Being....... Geordie, Scouse, Cockney, Brummie and all the rest are just as much true English as RP

You can learn it if you imitate it often enough.

My cousins and I made up this imaginary character in our childhood who speaks urdu with a british accent LOL. Oh the things he says......"teeen goona lagaaan" :rofl1: we still do it ever so often.
