    Jumu'ah Mubarak a.k.a. Happy Friday!

The Messenger of Allaah (saw) said: "Friday is the best of days. It was on this day that Aadam (as) was created, it was on this day that he was granted entry into jannah, it was on this day that he was removed from jannah (which became the cause for man's existence in this universe, and which is a great blessing), and the day of resurrection will also take place on this day. " [Sahih Muslim]

    1. Have a bath

Muhammad (saw) said: "O Muslims! Allah Ta'ala has made this day a day of eid . So have a bath on this day, whoever has perfume should apply it, and use the miswaak. " [Ibn Majah]

The Prophet (saw) said: “When any one of you goes to Jumu’ah, let him do ghusl.” [Bukhari, al-Jumu’ah: 882, Muslim, al-Jumu’ah: 845]

The Prophet (saw) said: “Whoever does ghusl, then comes to Jumu’ah and prays whatever Allaah wills that he should pray, then listens attentively to the khateeb until he finishes the khutbah, then prays with him, will be forgiven his sins between that and the other Friday plus three days.” [Muslim, al-Jumu’ah: 1418]

    2. Take a stroll to the Mosque

"O you who believe! When the call is made for the prayer on Friday (Jumu'ah prayer), come to the remembrance of Allah [Jumu'ah religious talk (Khutbah) & Salaah (prayer)] and leave off business (and every other thing). That is best for you if you but knew!" [Al-Qur’an 62:9]

By going walking for the Jumu'ah salah, one gets the reward of fasting for one year for every step that he takes. [Tirmidhi]

    3. Arrive early and run for the first line!!!

Narrated Abu Huraira (ra): The Prophet (saw) said, "On every Friday the angels take their stand at every gate of the masaajid to write the names of the people chronologically (i.e. according to the time of their arrival for the Friday prayer) and when the Imam sits (on the pulpit) they fold up their scrolls and get ready to listen to the sermon." [Bukhari]

    4. Make dua'a (especially in that last hour)

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet (saw) said: "On Jumu’ah (Friday) there is a time that if a believing slave asks Allah during it for some good, (Allah will) give it to him, and that time is after the Asr prayer." [Ahmad]

In Jabir Ibn Abdullah's narration, the Prophet (saw) said: "Seek it in the last hour after Asr (last hour before Maghrib)." [An-nasai]

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (ra) that the Messenger of Allaah (saw) mentioned Friday and said: “On this day there is a time when no Muslim stands and prays, asking Allaah for something, but Allaah will grant him it” – and he gestured with his hands to indicate how short that time is. [Bukhari, 893; Muslim, 852]

    5. Recite Surah Al-Kahf

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (ra) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (saw) said ‘Whoever reads Surah al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (his sins) between the two Fridays.’”
    [Al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 1/298]

    6. Reminder for us all

It was narrated from Abu’l-Ja’d al-Damari – who was a companion of the Prophet (saw) – that the Prophet (saw) said: “Whoever neglects three Jumu’ahs, Allaah will place a seal on his heart.” [Abu Dawood, 1052]

    7. The Virtues of Jumu’ah

Muhammad (saw) used to say that the night of Jumu'ah is a lustrous night, and the day of Jumu'ah is a lustrous day. [Mishkaat]

It was narrated from Aws ibn Aws that the Prophet (saw) said: “The best of your days is Friday. On that day Adam (peace be upon him) was created; on that day he died; on that day the Trumpet will be blown; and on that day all of creation will swoon. So send a great deal of blessings upon me, for your blessings will be shown to me.” They said, “O Messenger of Allaah, how will our blessings upon you be shown to you when you have turned to dust?” He said, “Allaah has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets, peace be upon them.” [Abu Dawud, 1047; classed as saheeh by Ibn al-Qayyim in his comments on Sunan Abi Dawood, 4/273]

Jumu'ah (Friday) prayer is one of the most important obligations in Islam, and one of the greatest gatherings of the Muslims. Gathering on Friday is more important and more obligatory than any other gathering apart from 'Arafah. Whoever neglects it, Allah will place a seal on his heart. [Ibn Al-Qayyim in Zaad al-Ma'aad]

The Prophet (saw) said: "Whoever leaves out Friday prayer (Jumu'ah) without a valid reason is written down as a hypocrite in a book that is absolutely protected from any changes and modifications." [Mishkaat]

    Re: Happy Friday!!!

    Jzk for the reminders.

MashaAllah the Masjid was jam packed today, as though it was Eid (due to good Friday bank holiday). It should be like this every week! It's so hot in UK too, during salah it reminded me of being in the haram sharif.

:jkk: for the thread , sis ! Very beneficial. I'd just like to share another hadith about Jumu'ah.

Abu Hurairah Radiallahu anhu reports that the Holy Prophet :saw: said, "Whoever recites the following Durood eighty times immediately after Asr Salaah on Friday, before standing up from his place, Allah will forgive eighty years of sins and grant him the reward equivalent to eighty years of worship."

        اللهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِنِ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَسَلِّمْ تَسْلِيْمًا

"Allahumma salli alaa muhammadinin nabiyyil ummiyyi wa-ala aalihi wasallim tasleema"

Translation: O Allah bless Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, and his family and grant them best of peace.
