    Walaykumslaam,

You can try Amsons, it's a big shop that does alot of abayas and all sorts of other things like scarves/clothes/dvds/books ect.
    I love that shop :)
    It's on Coventry road.

      :wswrwb:

It took me months to figure out where to get one from, it was like some sort of secret club!

Anyway, I purchased one from the Salama Business Centre on Coventry Rd, but I think I was overcharged and I gave it away eventually because it was actually the one incorporating the niqab, so it was too long to wear as one without niqab.

There is House of Fragrance at the bottom of Coventry Rd but he doesn't open very early in the mornings, and I've had a few wasted journeys.

There is also a shop down Whitmore Rd, which is off Coventry Rd - I've been told only women are allowed in.

Then if you carry onto Parliament Street I think it's called, there is a few shops inside by the entrance to Masjid Ar-Rahma.

I've tried one the overhead abayas in Amsons, and the cut of it was all wrong.

She could probably just ask one of the sisters at the masjid aswell.

She couldn't find it at amsons. But will check out the other stores this week InshaAllah. They are very rare aren't they?

It seems so, but then I walked into the masjid the other day and I was one of the few not wearing one.

I think it's more a case of people not being very helpful.

I found it difficult to find one that was suited to me, but I have any success with any of the shops I'll let you know inshaAllah.

salafi bookstore on cov rd used to sell them, dunno if they still do.

amsons only sell jubbahs that hang from the shoulders as far as I've seen.

the dawat e islami bookstore on alum rock road sells black overhead afghan burqas.

if you going down alum rock road away from town then it's by the pelham roundabout on your left. they used to be on display but not in window display any more, you have to go in and say that someone told me you have black afghani burqas here, they might need to get it outta the store for you. should be a tenner or 15 quid, cant remember which.

its like this but in black. ie front is half but the lady can hold the sides over infront and tbh it's convenient if she's carrying a small child.
