  • Culture Question

    Hi,

First off I'd like to say sorry if I put this in the wrong place.

I was watching a show on TV about a Muslim society. There was this interesting thing that the Muslim women were using to take some stress of the back while sitting on the floor. It was a strap that went around the shoulders and the knees. I'm not exactly sure if this is specifically a Muslim thing but since it was Muslim culture I thought that maybe somebody here would know. I would greatly appreciate it if somebody could tell me.

    Thanks,
    Darren

Sorry. I may have this all completely wrong. I tried Goggling it and I couldn't find it. Here's a link to the story if you want to watch it:

Somewhere in the middle you'll see Richard Engal using it.

        at around 3:40.

clever little thing. just a fabric strap going around the shoulders/upper back and the front of the knees when their sitting cross legged.

There are two kinds of pride, both good and bad. 'Good pride' represents our dignity and self-respect. 'Bad pride' is the deadly sin of superiority that reeks of conceit and arrogance.

ROFL! Can't be a strap. My Dad beat me with a strap and that looks nothing like what I haven't blocked out. :D

There's got to be some sort of name for it...

The strap of love? I like it! Well it's funny but on Google search, I don't think it would come up with anything on "Al Strap Habibi" or "My beloved strap."

Do not think of minor sins as insignificant, for mountains are made out of pebbles.

Any suggestions on where I can go to find this out?
