"Your body is from this Earth and can only be fed with food from this Earth. But your soul is from the sky and can only be fed with food from the sky.

So make sure you have your daily portion of the Qur'an to feed your soul."

If they ask you "why are you sad?"
Tell them truthfully and say to them
"I rarely make istighfar and I left reading the quran"

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله وبركاته

I have been having problems with my recitation. My teacher keeps saying I'm doing imala in my recitation and I have never been taught imala before. I know it's used in other qiraas but I'm wondering where I got it plus I'm mostly listening to Hussary رحمه الله

It has been discouraging to say the least. While still having issues with makharij and sifaat of heavy letters esp ص & ط this pops out of nowhere.

❝ The Qur'an absorbs sadness (and grief) from the heart like a sponge. If you read the Qur'an while sorrowful (and disheartened), it will bandage you. And if you read it while joyful (and delighted), it will multiply your happiness. ❞

Do you have a teacher in Sha Allah? It would be useful that way, sometimes theory doesn't do any justice. And to answer simply there is involvement with the tongue against the hard palate that is directly behind the front teeth.

Three ways to produce this sound:
Left side of the tongue touching upper molars
    Right side of tongue"
Both sides of tongue" (I use both sides)

May Allah make it easy for you, Aameen

Jzk, for your answer and ameen.

Is there any involvement/function of the front section of the tongue or any other section besides the side and the back being raised when pronouncing the daad? When pronouncing the ض by exerting pressure to the location described by you is there an area of vacuum or trapped air created in the mouth which gets released once the pressure is released and creates the sound of the ض? Or is it just purely tapping the side of the tongue forcefully with the top left inner side of the mouth (as you described) that creates the sound.
