  • Exzema help

    Assalamu alaykum to all,

can anyone please help,I have severe exzema due to allergy of dairy products the doctors iv visited keep brushing me off with creams and oils,I don't think they realse the problem is within my body and blood.
Unfortunately when I begin to itch when amongst crowds it kind of moves people away to sit or stand with me and feels like there's certain doubt on me.
Also I would really like to stay away from dairy products but find it difficult as I like my cups if teas and a bit of sweet after a meal just like any other being.
Can some please provide me with some sincere advice as to what I need to take because this is really annoying me and effecting my immune system.
    Jazakallah khair inshAllah.

eczema usually is of two types one from irritating agents like certain surfaces or products, and the other from allergies to certain food. The creams are to reduce the itchiness or reduce the inflammation but as you say the main cause is dairy products then maybe you should discuss this with the doctors and try to find an appropriate diet for you. Also might be helpful to excercise.

Continue to make dua and put your trust in Allah(swt). May Allah(swt) grant you shifa. Ameen.

O son of Adam! -Your mother gave birth to you while you were weeping,
while those around you were laughing in joy.
Work for the day, the day you die,
that you may be laughing in joy then,
while they will be weeping for you.

There are loads of alternative dairy products, try soya milk, coconut milk, rice milk etc etc until you find one that suits you.

Also its important to keep the skin moisturised, even if you have to do it several times a day! I agree with the above, if you can get some pure unrefined shea butter, its very moisturising and mild

Its just finding a balance between controlling your diet and keeping your skin from getting dry.
        What does 'freedom' mean?

Does the eagle want to swim in the sea,
        Restricted by the sky?

Does the fish want to dance on the wind,
        Not enough river to explore?

Yet the sky is freedom for the bird
        but death for the fish,

The sea is wide for the fish
        but will engulf the bird.

We ask for freedom but freedom to do what?
We can only express our nature as it was created.

The prayer mat of the earth is freedom,
freedom from slavery to other than the One,
Who offers an shoreless ocean of love to swim in
and a horizon that extends to the next life,
Yet we chose the prison and call it freedom.

Shea butter didnt work for me, black seed oil did!

Just my expereince, but there are loads of chinese remedies out there which actually contain steroids (thus the eczema clearing up so quickly!) Some have been found to contain high dosages of steriods, waaay too high for little children and dangerous! So just make sure you really know what is in the creams/ ointments you use inshaallah, especially when it comes to youg children

I would back homeopathy as well mashaallah, end of the day eczema is not something that you can take a pill or apply a wonder cream and it will magically disappear (unfortunately!) it is usually a manifestation of something else that is wrong in the body ie: digestive problems, intolerances, allergies etc so best to source and find the root of the problem and address that instead :)

                    Re: Exzema help

I have eczema, but mA it's died down.

There really is no cure; just watch your eating (dairy does seem to be a common culprit) and moisturise like there's no tomorrow.

I found the 6 week food allergy style test worked. You basically cut out all dairy/ citrus/ whatever else you suspect from you diet for about 6 weeks. You'll notice a major difference. Then re-introduce things one by one and you'll soon see whats causing it. Even if it is dairy- just cutting down will make a mjor difference.

                      Re: Exzema help

Whenever i get asked what am i allergic to? I usually respond with 'everything'...i'm 20 + yrs old i've had eczema all my life and no it will never go away unless you can control whatevers causing it. I still have my dairy products because i don't get any severe reactions to it but none the less when i was little my parents used to buy me goats milk...at the moment i buy powdered milk for my teas so you might want to TRY it.

I would suggest you keep some allergy tablets or piriton syrup for when you have an 'itch attack' (what i call it). Wash your hands or whatever under really hot water (the hottest you can bear) for a few seconds it usually kills off the itch for me...and then moisturise. Make sure the areas are always clean. Sometimes getting someone close to squeeze/press that place (in my case the hands) works aswell.

Arifa have you tried what the poster above you wrote? Some products c have a delayed reaction, for example my daughter is allergic to bananas, she can eat them fine but its only a couple of days later her skin will react and eczema will manifest. This is why its imporant to exclude everything you are suspiscious of (yes it is possible lol!) and then re-introduce one at a time say for example giving each individual food a week before you introduce another. Also keeping a food diary and logging all you eat alongside when your reactions flare up and are at their worst can also help identify what the culprits could be.

Dark chocolate can be surprisingly tasty. Also, I found that cutting down instead of quitting helped (because I couldn't quit completely either!)
