Dhal Chaawal and achaar....thats the most simple but nicest dish :inlove:

I used to hate achar but recently Ive being a real real achaar junkie, its really bad. I didnt have it for the whole month in Ramadhan...so on Eid day...I was all out with the achaar. I get cravings for achaar....its kind of worrying

My aunty in India gets her maid to sun dry all the chills etc and then she pounds the whole thing by hand, and then makes achaar masala.......and it is :inlove:

home made achaar is so much nicer than the bottled stuff....had carrot achaar last week...

see its runs everywhere... daal chawaal and achaar... is that a custom or smth... first i thought maybe only in the family and village but now i see nearly everyone lol

yh my gran makes some herself... and it gets the top rating from everyone in gfamily... dunno what she does but she makes it to some next level... i do mix.. mostly mango and carrot does it for me.

I dunno....mine comes from India and its one of the very few things I adore...

i like the one where the mango is grated and then sun dried as opposed to cut into chunks

Do you have the sweet mango thing as well, morabba?

seriously someone make an achaar thread...

I REALLY need to learn how to cook soon. It was only till last year I knew what burning water looked like. |: I can now cook pasta. Woooo hoooo. Baking is a different matter. I can do that.

To cook any Indian dish , just remember the 5 essential ingredients ; Salt, Chilli Powder, Dhanya (Corriander) Powder, Turmeric Powder (Haldi) & Garam Masala.

Insha Allah, you will be able to prepare any dish , veg or non-veg, using the proper combination of those spices.
