  • RE:is this haraam?

is it haraam if a mother deliberetly overfeeds her child to the point where they are overweight even when told to stop? because the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told us not to be glutton...

No it's not haram, in fact, everyone should overfeed their children because it's fun to watch them when they're fat and you could possibly win some medals in "fattest child" competitions.

    /Sarcasm

Of course it's haram/wrong, you can work it out yourself. Some people and animals don't stop eating until they run out of food, so you need to regulate it.

then what should this mother be told to make her stop and belive if she dosent belive its haraam? because maybe she cant see its wrong because shes grown up eating like that?

Why are you asking a question you know the answer to?
        What does 'freedom' mean?

Does the eagle want to swim in the sea,
        Restricted by the sky?

Does the fish want to dance on the wind,
        Not enough river to explore?

Yet the sky is freedom for the bird
        but death for the fish,

The sea is wide for the fish
        but will engulf the bird.

We ask for freedom but freedom to do what?
We can only express our nature as it was created.

The prayer mat of the earth is freedom,
freedom from slavery to other than the One,
Who offers an shoreless ocean of love to swim in
and a horizon that extends to the next life,
Yet we chose the prison and call it freedom.

Can the mother not see that she is endagering her child's health? What about the other extreme? Starving a child of no food? Neither extreme is tolerated, we are told to save a third of our stomachs for food, a third for water and a third for air.
