Preparing for Ramadan | Yousuf Archambault

I couldnt find the rest of this lecture unfortunately, which is a shame as it is good, but khayr insha'Allah this bit of it has some good advise for preparing for Ramadaan and the rewards for fasting.

the first fast is always the hardest but do that first fast, the next one will be easy
painful torment? (10) (If you do so) He will forgive you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, and pleasant dwellings in Adn (Edn) Paradise; that is indeed the great success. (12)

JazakAllah khair for the duas but i would prefer duas for shahadah instead.

            Bumpy Dumpy

Bismillah. Please sisters and brothers lets start preparing and reducing things such as tv etc so that iwe welcome ramadhan prepared, fresh and with open arms. Start even thinking of whatever you plan insha'Allah to do/buy such as presents for Eid so that you don't waste time in the last days of ramadhan thinking of presents etc

            Come on Ya Muslimeeen!!!
(The hypocrites) will call the believers: "Were we not with you?" The believers will reply: "Yes! But you led yourselves into temptations, you looked forward for our destruction; you doubted (in Faith); and you were deceived by false desires, till the Command of Allah came to pass. And the chief deceiver (Satan) deceived you in respect of Allah."57:14

              Re: Start preparing for Ramadan

I would say to get used to waking up for fajr and praying 5 times a day...(cos some people struggle)
or slowly work on all ur voluntary prayers and stuff so during ramadhan you will find it easier...

also cut down hours of watchin tele n stuff =] (for the ppl who watch alot.)

stock up on books maybe to do with ramadhan to influence and keep u wantin to do as many good things ass possible

                      Re: Start preparing for Ramadan

Something i did last Ramadhan which helped although i should've done it earlier.

Set yourself some targets and note them down for each day in a notebook. E.g. learning certain duas daily or ayahs, stop swearing, stop watching useless TV, biting your tongue when annoyed etc and try now implementing these things and record them.

Keep a regular check on what you wish to achieve.

An plan anything for Eid now insha'Allah so as to not waste any time during the last days of Ramadhan thinking about what to get people etc.. An any plans you have note them down now, so if you intend and would like to practice Iti'kaaf then let your parents/spouses/children etc know

May Allah Swt allow us all to reach Ramadhan healthy and full of motivation and may He Swt unite this ummah and make this Ramadhan the on that beats all Ramadhans and may He Swt allow us all to practice and achieve the highest, earn the highest of rewards and forgivenss and may He Swt allow us to come out of Ramadhan sinnless and full of imaan which lasts longer than ever ameen
(The hypocrites) will call the believers: "Were we not with you?" The believers will reply: "Yes! I was advised the other day to recite surah Al-Baqarah everyday and i think it is great training in reciting and discipling oneself to finish the surah daily. Many lessons that can be learnt too.

Also i advise changing one's daily routine and involving more ibaadat and practice tahajjud so that during Ramadhan inshaAllah you aren't 'tired' or 'lazy' or find it 'difficult' because your body will already be used to it.
