        وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته

I'd just like to add a question to that list: How often (and what i.e. blindness, etc.) do things go wrong?

        جزاكم الله خيرا
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for a man who avoids quarreling even if he were in the right, a house in the middle of Paradise for a man who avoids lying even if he were joking, and a house in the upper part of Paradise for a man who made his character good. (Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 41, Number 4782)

i did my lasik more than 7 years ago... i did it to aviod getting eye infection from contact leans and wearing glasses which was giving me headache... you get perfect vision within a day of surgery and it has been hassle free from contact lens and glasses for many years... you will need to get used to it, even psychologically... but myopia is a medical condition, which can not be rid off completely, so it will return after some years...

the whole surgery only lasts a few minutes, the position they put you in is a bit uncomfortable, and the real pain is after surgery lasts for a day... i was given valium and sleep immediately after surgery... and when i woke up, the pain wasn't so bad, but you do feel that that's sand in your eyes you cant get rid off... lol...

I need a laser eye surgery but I'm too afraid of the consequences :eek3: They say it's risky!
Give me a clear vision, that I may know where to stand and what to stand for - because unless I stand for something, I will fall for anything.

Me too i am thinking about it and saving also for it. I don't really need it cause i don't have infections with lenses nor headaches with glasses, but it would be nice to get rid of the two latter lol

it doesnt always return...or at least to a level which you would need to wear spectacles/contact lenses all the time again...but when you reach 40+ you'll need specs for reading

                            Re: Laser Eye Treatment

I had it done in 1995 when back then the procedure was simple but it took at least 1 week to heal. Technology has moved from there so I am guessing its so much easier with regards to pain; healing time etc.

I suggest Optimax. They made me wait 5 years before they would l let me have the procedure done because my eyesight at that time was still changing. This shows that they werent just after my money.

I do not recommend the opticians. Go to a proper specialist.

(By the way, I did 1 year of research before I took the plunge when laser eye surgery was fairly new).

This IS major surgery so think hard about it. You only have one pair of eyes!

I now have 20-20 vision Alhumdhullialh, whereas previously my eyesight was so poor I could hardly see.

By the Allah's (swt) will, the surgery worked for me.

i was thinking about it but not yet, because my doc said your sight has to be stable, in u.s i think u have to be either 18 or 21 to get it, because by then (usually) ur vision is stable and won't get any worse
