'halal' is questionable. I wouldnt just eat at any old restaurant that displays the Halal sign. It doesnt mean anything anymore.
I think there are a few HMC joints, I'd stick with those unless you know the owner who is trustworthy.

What's with Halal restaurants which sell alcohol? Funny how so many muslims still trust the food is halal.

Specialising in Mediterranean food. I have tried Pasta and Chicken very nice.

Not far away is Badr again specialising in Mediterranean food although this is quite expensive. nice decor and lovely food.

Just a few steps away is the my favourite Abu Zayd Arabian Grill and Steak House. 412 Coventry Road, Small Heath, Birmingham B10 0UF - 0121 773 5646

It is not HMC certified but the brothers who owns it is practising and genuine and the chicken and meat is 100% non stunned.

Upstairs an excellent family section with high dividers so your family can enjoy meal in complete privacy. They bring the food up and knock so you can go outside the private section to collect it.

I have tried T-Bone steak (very filling) with Hummus. Also grilled Salmon is lovely. I was not keen on Beef Burger. The chicken and Lamb koftas are lovely.

hajees spices wasnt very good-tried it once. the decor drove my eyes bonkers and gave me a headache-only fools n horses style
i thot lazeez lounge was good -but, it has been a long time since i went.
the reason for choosing this place is it has seperate rooms that you can book for families/girls only aswell as the main restaurant bit. and the food-south asian style was very good too.
