  • Is Silk comfortable to sleep in?

    Asslaaam alaikum.

I was with my nephew and his bed duvet was made from silk and it was very comfortable to relax on but how is it like sleeping in?

I want to make the change from cotton to silk..................

With the cotton is absorbs the body heat and then you have to move over when the bed is still cold, what about silk absorbing heat factors?

I know we aren't allowed to wear silk, is there anything about using it for sleeping or anything?

Is it polyester silk, satin fabrics or material made from combinations of natural and synthetic fibres ?

              I'm talking about 100 % Silk?

Oh and where can I buy both of them?

Why do you still try? ;)

According to the hadiths, silk is haram for men unless they have a skin condition that makes all other materials bad for their skin, which in todays day and age of material choices is never going to happen.

Of course if the Quran is your only guide, then of course silk is a beautiful material accessible to all and sundry, as it should be.

Silk is lovely as a duvet cover, the only thing that annoys me is that the pillow slides out from under you, and silk is a sweat material.

Give me pure egyptian cotton or Peruvian pima cotton anyday over silk.

It is? In what context to wear or sleep on?

                            I need to see proof.

If silk is not allowed to be worn by men, what is the ruling of sleeping on it?
