A response I got from conservative talk show host Mike Gallagher

Salaam Alikum.

Mike Gallagher is a conservative talk show host (a-la Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage). I saw an interview with him on youtube, where he said that Muslims should be made to go through "Muslim Only" lines in airports so they can go through extra security and save everyone else the trouble. Anyways, in response to his "Muslim only lines" idea, I sent him an e-mail:

I'm an 18 year old Muslim and I was born in America, and I see that
you want us to go through "Muslim Only" lines at airports and stuff, and
I'm worried that will lead to segregation. I'm a normal person like
everyone else. I eat pizza, do homework, watch movies with friends, and
sleep in on Saturdays. I haven't done anything to anybody so why can't
people just leave us alone?

And here's his response:

hi ahmad,

actually, my belief is that giving muslims a "vip" type line at airport
check-ins would help us identify some of the muslim extremists who
want to kill us non-muslims. not only would it give muslims a speedier
check-in, but it should be done with great care and respect for all.

but not to worry, that idea would never, ever fly in this country. i
guess only israel has air safety figured out.

Whhaaaat?! That is completely rediculous. Talk about discrimination. Do people not seem to get it that islam completely condemns killing or hurting others, so i dont understand why we need 'extra security'.

Send in a suggestion under your previous name that all Muslim passengers should wear cresents on their sleeves to identify them so that they don't try to sneak into the mainstream queue. Just don't tell him that this was how Germans identified Jews during the Fascist era. It would be interesting to see how many listeners agree with that idea.

On the other hand you can suggest to him that as several school shootings were done by young white men and Oklahoma was bombed by a young white man, maybe there should be extra security checks on young white men too- cos' they'd "fit that profile";)
