Um, collecting Venus Fly Traps from the wild is highly illegal. They're almost extinct in the wild because of habitat destruction and stuff.

Or wait, you mean just go and look at them in habitat but leave them alone? I'm confused.

You are correct today. But that wasn't true in the 1970s when I lived there.

No. I actually did collect them and keep them in terraria.

As a pure coincidence, I was at the grocery store here in Denver today and they were selling the most beautiful red pitcher plants in hanging baskets for $7.95 a piece. The pitchers hung down over the sides of the basket like a cascade, and there had to be fifteen or twenty pitchers to each one.

        They were remarkable!

Cool, my venus fly trap died a few years ago, it didn't catch much, I had to put dead flies from the window sill into its claw things.

Anyone recommend any good house plants? Bought a couple from Asda/Walmart, they died after about a year and didn't grow much :|

As for me, I've decided to name my Monkey Cup plant "Audrey 2" (in honor of the movie 'Little Shop of Horrors')

I had a venus fly trap once, I live in england so i had to make the conditions humid for it i had it on the windowsill for ages turning it occasionally so it didnt droop to one side, then i put it under some grow lights ( tube lights, 35 watts) i put the whole plant in a plastic bag ( mini greenhouse) even misted the plant with water and it just died, i will be getting myself a greenhouse for the garden next season so i shall be able to grow some exotics inshallah,

here is a pic of my venus fly trap, it was a very small plant when i bought it
