      I used to get seperated cream from a dairy farmer and make my own butter but now I just buy it from an organic farmer that I know. Why eat a cheap copy when the original is right there
      BTW for those that think that butter is bland, you can spice it up if you make your own with chives, garlic, cinnamon and just about any spice that won't curdle milk

        wow... interesting bit of story... i din't know that... all i knew is margarine is 'bad'!

        and always look out for trans fats and AVOID it!

              Apparently Trans fats are what you really have to watch out for. Not all margarine is high in trans fat. Not all polyunsaturated fat is trans fat. Saturated fat still isn't good for you.

                I use some sort of olive spread which is relatively low in cholestrol and very low in trans-fatty acids - principally because Im a health freak.

                  Most butter available in the shops is made from cow's milk, but tescos also sell sheep's butter.
