  • does committing sin make you a kafir?

I sometime willingly disobey Allah and follow my temptations. Of course I would regret later on. Does that act alone make me a kafir?

Asalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatu

    no it does not
Each person has inside a basic decency and goodness. If he listens to it and acts on it, he is giving a great deal of what it is the world needs most. It is not complicated but it takes courage. It takes courage for a person to listen to his own goodness and act on it.

Depends whether it is kabeerah [major] or sagheerah [minor], former automatically takes you out of the fold of Islam and latter, doesn't..but repeatedly knowingly committing a sin and not repenting on top of that is not okay

            What's his previous/other account?
major kufr does not automatically take you out of the fold of islam

depending on the type of act and type of kufr akbar you committed you may have a preventative that stops you from becoming a kaafir if you dont then you become a kaafir

you could have an exscuse of ignorance (uther bid jahl)
            or misinterpretation (ta'weel)
            or be insane(majnoon)
            or be under compulsion(ikrah)

            mawaani (preventatives) of takfir

however if its kufr akbar and is shirk then
            you become kaafir automatically

            unless under compulsion(ikrah)
            or insane(majnoon)

also if your not buloogh then your not kaafir either

to see the different types of kufr akbar check the link i sent to op

To clarify, are you saying that if someone falls into major kufr that isn't shirk they may potentially be excused for their ignorance, but the same doesn't apply for kufr akbar + shirk?

If so, where did you get this distinction from?
