Well the question is, is it caused by greed of eyes and mouth, or caused by illness. Firstly, beside "the healing ability of verses" if you live by Quran and sunnah, you are not greedy ,and you know that eating fat and mistreating your body is against Quran. That you are deliberately hurting and harming your body. Secondly, it is definitely a definition of terms of which caused the disease, biologically induced for example metabolism disorders, or something else.. And in either way, Allahu Subhana WA ta Alaa.. Always accept a Dua...

        Wa alaikum salaam,

If you want to use the Quran to heal obesity, then you will have to do what the Qur'an says, obey the messenger and stop gorging yourself with food, have a maximim of 1/3 food, 1/3 drink and 1/3 air empty,

Which means your stomach should never be more than 66.66% full.

If you wont obey Allah azzawajal and jis Rasul صلى الله عليه السلام then your question is redundant.

          The simple cure

          A'isha reported:

Never did the family of Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) eat to the fill the bread of wheat beyond three days (successively).

          'A'isha reported:

Never did the family of Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) eat to the fill the bread of wheat for two days successively. Even (out of these two days) one (was such wherein he could get) only a date.

The following ahadith are in Sahīh Muslim in the chapter labelled Zuhd and making the hearts tender.

Eating less and not to ones fill has many benefits.

It helps soften the heart. That allows you to engage in discussions in a civilized manner. You find it easy to be polite and follow the Qur'ān and Sunnah.

Believe it or not, when you eat less and not till your fill you will have more energy.

You will feel happier. You will be nicer. You will have energy.

Above all, you will follow the Sunnah.

          That is the cure.
