'Whatever it be wherein ye differ, the decision thereof is with Allah: such is Allah my Lord: In Him I trust, and to Him I turn.' The Holy Qu'ran Al Shura (Consultation)
So, which of the favours of your lord will you deny? ~ Surah Ar Rahman
Dad made haleem and it was really good. I should've taken a photo. He's made it before but I don't remember it being that enjoyable before. He used to make it with barley and it would be really thick, but this time he hasn't used barley and it wasn't as thick and it tasted much better. We also used a different cut of meat this time and used organic meat so maybe that made a difference too.
Is that all? Little to no response on what everyone ate and no pictures whatsoever? What's going on? I thought it was the norm these days for people to take pictures of their food and post it online all over the place.
Anyway as promised, here's a photo of the haleem dad made for Eid. It tasted very nice. The rest of my family ate haleem with naan as that's the traditional way to have it, but I had it with rice cos I'm gluten free but it was still good (I also had it with some sag gosht and red lentils which my mum made).
Anyone want to discuss ideas as to what to cook? Last Eid we had gluten free haleem (see photo in previous comment) and it was very nice. Not decided what to do this time. One thing I do want to do this Eid is buy a box of mangoes. Usually we don't know what to buy for people, at the same time mangoes have become expensive so we don't buy them as much in recent years, so I think that makes it an ideal Eid treat for the family.
