We love to have some snacks along with fruits, juice, dessert and a light main course. Watermelon or other rose syrup based drinks, homemade dessert like kheer and pulao. In snacks it may vary like tikka, kabab or fried items like spring roll, pakora and samosa. Chicken samosa and onion samosa are my favorite. You can read a recipe for onion samosa written by me from below https://www.hassanchef.com/2021/06/o...amosa.html?m=1

Alhamdulillah that is a feast when you compare it to those without anything to eat.

May Allah SWT reward them for their perseverance and bless them with happiness in this world in the hereafter. Amen
Usually I tell people off for unhealthy habits like some households make deep fried samosas and pakoras everyday for iftar and there's no excuse for that, but in your case I'll make an exception because I understand. Whilst there are many households where the mum will cook amazing food from scratch each day, there are also many other people (usually women, especially anemic women) who are already exhausted from the fasting, possibly had to work or deal with a load of other responsibilities in the day and so to make something good from scratch each day is an unrealistic expectation. I can understand turning to a convenience food on occasions like that.

Jazakallah khayr, thanks sis. This is the benefit of being the only adult in your household. You can make the most simplest of food & there’s no one there to bat an eyelid lol

Mini pizzas & garlic bread (I didn’t even ‘make’ the pizzas, my daughter did - shot two birds with one stone; kids get to do an activity & I get my Iftar lol) I think I over cooked my pizzas because they looked a bit weird but they tasted good Click image for larger version
