Astronomy - Sun & Moon Course

"He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His law)! Each one runs (its course) for a term appointed.

Surah Ar-Ra'd 13, Ayah 2 and Surah Fatir Surah 35 Ayah 13

"And the Sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him) the exalted in Might the All-knowing."

Surah Ya-Sin 36, Ayah 38

"Seest thou not that Allah merges Night into Day and He merges Day into Night; that He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His Law) each running its course for a term appointed: and that Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do?"

Surah Luqman 31 Ayah 29

Gravitational forcesOur solar system was a mass of swirling gas in the distant past (14-15 billion years ago) and the sun, the moon as well as the planets came together from that mass. Therefore they were subjected to the natural laws of gravity set up by the Almighty.

Gravitational forcesThe whole system including the sun and the moon is part of a galaxy and is moving around the centre of it. As such, it will fall into a distant system some time in the future and be destroyed. This is the so-called "Dog-System": So there is a term appointed on which the sun and the moon will come to an end.

Gravitational forcesThe pictures show how THE SUN, THE MOON AND PLANETS WERE SUBJECTED TO GRAVITY.
