Two words used for heaven or tracts in the Quran
are: "asma" and "taraiq". One can be translated as firmament
(asma) and the other one as heaven (taraiq). Both have a distinguished
scientific meaning and implication. The meaning of firmaments
(asama) will be dealt with in Geology 1, the meaning of heaven
(taraiq) is dealt with here:
Scientists agree, that there are seven zones or
partitions in the known universe. They can be clearly distinguished
according to their constitution, substance and structure. As
seen from the earth these are:
1. The solar-systems plus the gap to the next solar
system (1-10 light years across Planets
& Stars).
2. The spatial field of the galaxies (1000 light
years away from our planet).
3. The spatial field of "Local Clusters" or the
Milky Way (100000 light years, below).
4. The collective magnetic field of near galaxies
(10 Million light years, bottom).
5. The cosmic band containing Quasars (1 Billion
light years, Universe & Life, Elements).
6. The zone of expansion containing receding galaxies
(14 Billion light years, Universe development,
Expansion).
7. The outermost field of limitless infinity (+14
Billion light years).
