The Return of the Caliphate!!!

Cheer up all Khilafa proponents. Seems like one day you guys will make it. Discovered a hadith from the School of the AhlulBayt which suggests that the Bani Abbas- Abbassids- will be back in the driving seat again:

" The Abbassid dynasty is founded upon fraud and deception. It will vanish in such a way that no trace of it will remain. However, it will revive itself in such a way that it would seem as if it never saw that decline"
- Imam Musa al Kadhim, peace be upon him.
The Seventh Imam of the House of the Imams of the AhlulBayt.

The above hadith is reported in Bihar un Anwar, vol. 52, which was recorded at the peak of the power of the Abbassid Caliphate some 1200 years ago.

Another hadith suggests that the Abbassids will be routed by the Sufiyani. The Sufiyani will be a descendent of Abu Sufiyan who will gain power and rule over Damascus, Hims, Palestine, Jordan and Qinnasrin (wherever that is). He will outwardly be a pious man but in reality most wicked. He will rise before the return of the Mahdi and oppose the Mahdi. He will despatch an army to fight against the Mahdi but his army will sink into the Earth between Mecca and Medina.

So it seems like we will be hearing a lot about Islam in the years to come. The various versions of it. Under the Abbassids, the Sufiyani and finally under the Mahdi of the House of the Prophet- from the descendents of Ali and Fatima (peace be upon them)

May God Hasten the return of the Living Imam, the Sahib uz Zaman!

Oh well. No one seems too happy about the Khilifat returning. We will have to do with the Islamic Revolution in the meantime!

Yes. I have read hadiths about the Suffiyani too.

The people who deposed the Ommayads fought under the slogan that they would return the right of leadership to the Bani Hashim- the family of the Prophet, implying that they would take the leader of the House of Hashim from the descendents of Ali and Fatima as their Khalifa.

When finally these people were triumphant they proclaimed a descendent of the Prophet's uncle Abbas bin Abdul Mutallib as the Caliph and labelled themselves the Bani Abbas- Children of Abbas- the Abbassids- though the Prophet's uncle Abbas himself was a Hashimite!

The whole affair was fradulent and those who supported the Abbassids in their stated goal were hoodwinked. The Abbassids then started the persecution of the Imams of the House of Ali and Fatima, just as the Ommayads had done, seeing them as a threat to their reign.

Dear Isham: Assalamu alaikum, The Ummayad and Abbasid caliphates lasted hundreds of years, and it is difficult to answer your question in one paragraph. But to be brief, the Ummayads, expanded the Islamic state tremendously, they reached China in the East and the Atlantic in the West. Spain was opened and nine centuries of unparalleled Islamic civilization followed, which brought about the renaissance in Europe. The Abbasids brought about the Golden age of Islamic civilization. Achievements in all sciences and disciplines reached their peak. If you visit the Middle East, or Spain, you will be able to see the living monuments that testify to their contributions.
