Police say one man could be responsible for a string of bizarre break-ins over four years involving a naked perpetrator who sometimes tickles the feet of sleeping elderly women.

The latest break-ins happened Saturday and Sunday in two separate homes, but investigators suspect the same man is responsible for five similar, unsolved cases reported in the area since 2001.

New Smyrna Beach police say they've been unable to catch him in part because they haven't had much evidence.

The incidents vary slightly, but most of the victims are over 60, said police Cmdr. Wade Kirby.

Usually the intruder is naked, but sometimes partially clothed, Kirby said. Sometimes he tickles the women's feet, as he allegedly did Saturday night, and sometimes he's discovered and flees before touching them, Kirby said.

Each time, the man ran off after being noticed.

Police said Friday they are looking for a naked burglar who is believed to have broken into the homes of elderly women and tickled their feet while they were sleeping.

Although the most recent incidents occurred in two separate homes last weekend, the man, described as thin and young, is believed to be responsible for approximately five break-ins in the past several years, police said. All of the cases were reported in the Sea Woods subdivision.

Most of the intruder's victims are older than 60, police Cmdr. Wade Kirby said.

Police said the suspect is usually naked when committing his crimes, but sometimes he is partially clothed. In some cases, he tickles the women's feet, but in other incidents, he is discovered and flees before touching the women.

The suspect has run off each time after being noticed, according to reports. Police would not comment on whether anything was stolen during the break-ins

Turmoil in a small US-town: Over and over a naked burglar breaks into houses and tickles its female residents.

According to the friday news of us-television station WKMG the naked "tickling gangster" is working again in Florida: Unnoticed he entered the house of a sleeping 73 year old and presumably tickled her feet with a feather.

Further "Visits" are most likely

The police said that the naked burglar often had entered houses between 2 and 4 am. Within the last year there have been several similar cases. After his tickling attacks he runs away straight. Psychologists assume that the shock of the victims turns him on. Accordingly further visits are expected.
