Agreed. As much as it is healthy for the two's relationship, it is of utmost importance that the children are also raised around this sunnah. To see affection (e.g. salaams, sweet words and closeness) in the household will provide for them a standard of marriage to hope for.

But yes, another Sunnah to revive In sha Allah. It doesn't guarantee 0 problems in any marriage but invites sweetness into the homes.

Maybe he doesn't want to greet her because he is afraid she will ask him to buy her a saree

Yes you are. You also need to learn there is a whole range of different meaning to the word 'nothing' in such circumstances and if you get her meaning wrong it is entirely you're fault not her's for giving an unclear answer... OK it's not but you have to pretend otherwise.

    Yeaaaah,
The husband has a no win situation to the comment of "Nothing"
The only way out is to pull a flower or a chocolate out of your bag.

The immediate following convo would go like this

Wife : awww thanks honey ,you dont care about me do you,you dont want to know how hard my day was .

Husband : but I ask........ed ,(gulp ), how was your day
Wife : No never mind now
Husband : but I wana know pls
Wife : its ok ,you are just asking because I told you

Husband: but I did ask you
Wife : so just bcos you give me chocolate evrrything is ok now is it

Husband : but chocolate is bcos I care

    Wife :-nevermind ,leave me alone

    Husband : ok

Wife : see you dont care

Husband : ( walks off quietly into the toilet ,what a waste of chocolate)

it's not, it will be appreciated later, trust me. You just have to accept women are contrary in nature, they do usually appreciate a man's efforts, even if they don't say so straight away.

Btw, a cheat on chocolates... find out her favourites and bulk buy when on offer and then store somewhere else than the house. Locker at work, cupboard at the parents place etc. Not only will it save you money but will give you a supply of gifts if needed when you're in a tight spot.

Agree, what's the point in greeting the walls.
Though some men expect their wives to literally be at the door to greet them when they come home. It might be a nice surprise sometimes, but to expect it all the time like a puppy is too much.

I mean, if they're happy with each other, things like this should come naturally.

    Re: The husband

I am an expert when it comes to hiding secrets. So he does not have to worry about anything. He won't even know lol.
My mouth is always shut, it's better like that instead of burdening him more with my own concerns.
When feeling forced to do something, I won't do it. If I have something I need to speak about, I will for sure. Just don't force it out of me

Greeting (when entering the house) in the other hand is something everyone shall do. Not only do u greet the people there, but also the angels in the house. I greet when entering the house even when there's no one there, unintentionally.

So you are not really greeting the walls when the wife is not there. And don't expect the wife to run into your arms like a lost kid whenever you come back. This is not how it should be.

    True

    Saris are expensive

But the real question is are they worth it?

You wear them once and you can never wear it again if it's out of fashion (the style goes out of fashion immediately, every season almost)

Best thing to do is to find out if she wears saris or not and if she likes mangos

Another two extra questions added to the other hundreds of questions

True but I read men learn to be selfish and only put their feelings first as this is how they grow up amongst their male comrades. They don't take about how they are feeling etc so they don't think to do that for others.

If that's true makes you wonder why so many women cry themselves to sleep because they can't find one.

Or perhaps it just applies to some men and the majority are no more selfish than the average woman.

Be careful what you wish for.
Secure few moments, everyday, to reflect upon the innumerable blessings of Allah and thank Him for bestowing them upon you.
