Question How important is it to be facing Mecca *exactly* while praying?

    Hi everyone!

Let me start by writing that I'm not a Muslim myself, so please feel free to correct me if I make any false assumptions.
I recently wrote an Android app that takes the curvature of Earth into account for showing where another place actually is.
For example, if you are in Germany, Mecca is actually 19° below the horizon and in Australia or South America you would almost have to look at your feet if you imagine a tunnel straight through Earth to Mecca.

I wrote about this app on Reddit where someone pointed out to me that it might actually be useful to Muslims. (As they put it, many Muslims "are in fact sending prayers off into space".) My question is: Is this other Reddit user right and knowing the exact location of Mecca is important to you? Or is it more like a symbolic thing? I am honestly curious about your answers!

    Hi ,

As none has answered it let me try to give you some response that's in my knowledge.

I did come to hear a small diversion to our left or to our left (after deliberation that's in our capacity) while trying to face the kaaba will be excused and similarly Islam is EASY in some matters of INEVITABLE difficulties and in matter of timings of prayers or salah where the sun does not set or the night is continuous.

That was to show you how Islam is often adaptable according to your living conditions but still not breaking its Rules of Haram or Halal

You may refer to a video at the end of post # 8 in the below thread on it (direction of kaaba to Prophets (pbuh) companion who was going to travel ) arriving it from a hadith might be of some use to you.in your studies
