Would you sit next to Brelavi or Salafi on a journey

Imagine you are going on a journey and you have a chioce to sit next to a Sufi/Brelavi individual or a Saudi Salafi./Madkhali individual.

"The objective behind Shari'ah is to liberate individuals from his desires in order to be a true Abd (slave) of Allah and that is the legitimate Maslaha... Violating the Shari'ah under the pretext of following Maqasid al-Shari'ah is like the one who cares about the spirit without the body and since the body without the spirit is useless therefore the spirit without the body is useless too." ~ Imam Shatibi - The greatest intellectual founder of Maqasid al-Shari'ah

If we are talking about learning then I'd rather sit next to the 'Salafi' (how I hate that term) not I lean towards their way of thinking though (I don't) but Sufis I do not trust one bit - they have such misguided beliefs as I have come to know from these crazy Bengalis.

But otherwise I'd rather sit next to the Sufi because Salafis don't joke.

Just because he has wisdom that doesn't mean Sufis have wisdom.

He's a wise guy who happens to be Sufi, and that's it. There are probably many other wise sufis. Likewise there are many dimwit Sufis.

    Salafis are wise too.

    Go eat your salad, Sophie.

Re: Would you sit next to Brelavi or Salafi on a journey

The religion of Islam is one as Allah SWT said :
    ")

And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way. This has He instructed you that you may become righteous
    .") Quran 6:153

These names have nothing to do with Islam because it causes divisions between Muslims and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

("I have left two matters with you. As long as you hold to them, you will not go the wrong way. They are the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet.")

Muwatta Malik Book 46, Hadith 1628

So whoever follows Quran and Sunnah of prophet peace be upon him is a Muslim !
Ibn Al Qayyim may Allah have mercy on him said: ("
The heart on its journey towards Allah the Exalted is like that of a bird. Love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings. When the head is healthy, then the two wings will fly well. When the head is cut off, the bird will die. When either of two wings is damaged, the bird becomes vulnerable to every hunter and predator..”
    )
