    Question question about music

    Selam.
I used to be first a DJ, than a pop producer, and than i understood those tracks had bad words, seems for me not right at all. Than I started to create voiceless music. What i mean by that is that i created music like mozart would do, cellos, violins, violas, flutes...etc instruments.

Now, on this forum I found that music is prohibited fully.
Music is my passion, but, I will quit even my biggest passion if thats really against Islam.

I want to clearly know can i make emotional voiceless music or i cant.

I dont wanna pray, read quran, be good and throw that all on sining with music.

Music calms me, i do it as a hobby, i like to compose in virtual programs.

    https://m.soundcloud.com/ml_lapan/ml...f-the-ummah-jd

Those are examples of my creations.

Is this wrong, should i quit it even if it does not put me away from Islam?

Music will take you away from Islam because sins harden the heart. Are you willing to risk entering hellfire for tunes?

Use of musical instruments is Haraam, as clearly indicated in authentic hadith,

If you give up this Evil, Allah عز و جل will replace it with something far better akhi,

Music is the voice of Shaytan, it blackens the heart and takes you away from the rememberance of Allah عز و جل

    Re: question about music

Music is not allowed in Islam , there are very strong words against it in hadeeth.

It may not take a person out of fold of Islam , but its a sin , there is no doubt regarding that.

I will not create nor listen music anymore on purpose.
Nor I will be afraid to warn everyone around from what I read and know now.

    Again about music

For many muslims, this one is not haram: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V67JrBGAwZs
For many muslim this one is haram: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQo00LbMMAo

I would say that those both are musical tracks, neither said anything bad, first one praised religion, second one was just inspirational and soul pleasing.
If a instruments are really prohibited, even to make such music to relax your mind or to listen to nasheeds with the same, than those both would be haram.
Or on the another way, those both would be halal, if there is no prohibition except if song is telling rude things.

    Re: Again about music

I was learning to compose second track type of music.
I enjoyed that music, I wanted to become a good composer.

Than I read the Hadith where it says that musical instruments are prohibited.

Wallah if all instruments are prohibited, and if I can give up on something what was my passion, and than I see muslim which comforts to listen a passion that I was give up on, I feel very sad, and I feel bitterly inside myself.

I Quit music when I replaced it with Quran.

Just imagine allnthe Songs you have ever memorized.. Inagine if those were surahs instead.

    Re: Again about music

    Salam
I am a revert and also learnt that music is strictly forbidden.
So I had to learn to get off music and I managed to do so.

I wish I would live in a country with no music at all - where its banned. But with that you sometimes still hear it but then I try to ignore it.

    Re: question about music

I am not one of the ulemma and therefore I am not fully aware of why music is banned. It is banned, thus end of story; one must respect the decisions made by those who dedicated their lives in the pursuit of gaining Islamic knowledge for the pleasure of Allah Az Zawajal.

However, from a scientific point of view, it is well known that music is a strong evoker of emotions. And emotions are one of the tools shaytan loves to use. Emotions can supercede logic which can become disastrous. The question of what about music without lyrics - I feel that it numbs and desensitizes your brain to the calming and soothing effect of a melodious Qur'an recitation. And Allah (swt) knows best. I used to be heavily into music, even planned to be a dj one day when I get my career goals done. Then one day listened to a nasheed by Mishary Al Afasy, which lead me to his recitation of Surah Ar Rahman the beauty of Qur'an and bam. First few days following that I actually felt guilty listening to music, then a complete withdrawl from all music happened. Alhamdulillah.

Music was also the tool used by shaitain to lure the pious descendants of Abel (as) to mix with the corrupted descendants of Cain (as). It was the first use of music and it was pure evil. And Allah (swt) knows best.

Scholars don't decide what is haraam and halaal.
