This will be our final Q&A before Ramadhaan this year, so make sure to ask any and all questions that you require.

Remember you can post your questions from now already, giving you enough time to think of what all you need to ask.

Also keep in mind that the radio skype account for you to ask your questions on is: ummahradio

We will start out with the questions missed out from the last q&a and then go on to all the new ones in-shaa Allaah.

We'll start again early from 8:30pm UK time In-shaa Allaah, so as to have sufficient time to deal with all the questions.

Therefore @Rifqah you don't need to hold back, you can ask as many questions as you want.

    Re: LIVE Q&A With Abu Mus'ab - Thursday 18th May 2017 8:30PM UK TIME

So starting with the missed questions:

    a) What is the ruling on Muslims who claim it's allowed for Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim man? If a Muslim says "I see nothing wrong in Muslim woman marrying a non-Muslim man" (they have knowledge so this can't be because of ignorance). Is this making haram halal i.e. kufr that makes a person kafir?

    b) What is the ruling on Muslims who say niqab is not part of Islam and someone who says "Niqab is nonsense"? Is this an act of kufr that takes a person out of Islam?

    Re: LIVE Q&A With Abu Mus'ab - Thursday 18th May 2017 8:30PM UK TIME

When a woman is praying and when she's in sujud, her toes touch the ground but they are on the hem of her abaya, does this render her prayer invalid? Are there different opinions among the four madhabs, must toes touch directly the ground?
Sometimes this just happens and it's very difficult/impossible to avoid. What should a woman do in this situation (continue prayer, start over or move her toes)?

    @Zareena2015

    Salam alaikum
A person missed most of the fasts last Ramadan due to health issues, they were not able to make up the fasts as their health was not good

Should they wait to make up the fasts after Ramadan hoping their health will improve or pay some money ,
they also have fasts to make up from previous years and may not have enough money to pay for all of them,

also how much should be paid?

Do the pictures in newspapers or on food packages eg rice bags stop the angels from entering the home?
should we not have newspapers or rice bags, cereal boxes etc in the home?

Can you explain the meaning of this hadith after you know who decided to make a mess of it again on youtube
Ali(ra): “Narrate to people what they can understand; do you want Allah and His Messenger to be disbelieved?”. (Bukhari)

With ramadan coming at the end of the show can you clarify the usual arguments that take during that time:

    Taraweeh 8 or 20
Are taraweeh and tahajjud the same
Do we have to pray taraweeh and can it be missed without a valid reason

Now adays when celebrity sheikhs come you see majority of the people who attend their lectures or even if their simply leading a salah to be women or fangirls as some say. They come because they see it is a blessing to prsy behind him

For women or sahabiyah was praying alone more rewarding then praying behind rasulullah saw himself

So we know that the 'Imamah is a sunnah, and the color white is established from the sunnah, and the shamla is established in the sunnah, and the wrapping of the turban on over the topi is also a sunnah..
My question is: we see that scholars from different regions tie their turbans in various ways and forms so.. the 'Imamah that I am familiar with is the one worn by Asian scholars. But are the turbans worn by Syrian scholars or Yemeni scholars also a valid Sunnah way?

A muslim is searching for a job in the west.

He has two options one includes 2 harams(minor sins) the other includes only 1 haram(minor sin). With the job that contains one haram he must do that haram much more frequently than the one with two harams.and the job with 2 harams provides an earlier exit route from haram.

He needs a job, which one should he pick?

I'm not sure I understand the way you approach the night prayers.

I understand how to pray them Alhamdulillah. What I'm not entirely confident on is the process before the prayer and the intention prior to the prayer.

I understand that voluntary prayers are voluntary and should not be approached as though they are compulsory.

So do you set an alarm to wake at night or do you pray that you will naturally wake? If you don't wake, because you were really tired and slept through then this is okay too?

I'm concerned that an alarm means you're making it kind of compulsory.

    Chapter 2 verse 183 says,

"Oh you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those who were before you, in order that you may learn piety and God-Consciousness".

Are these words translated well? As the word 'prescribed' sounds like we need Ramadan and the fast, as medicine for an ailment. Is the month of Ramadan supposed to cleans us and help us to be more focused in life?

    Re: LIVE Q&A With Abu Mus'ab - Thursday 18th May 2017 8:30PM UK TIME

If we accidentally engage in any of these: verbal abuse, fighting, eavesdropping, backbiting, lying or slander on one day during the month of Ramadan, does it render that day's fast worthless, or the whole fast worthless?

One other question: If you have one of the exemptions (such as a severe medical condition needing daily meds or pregnancy), does it mean that you are not permitted to fast, does it mean that you can do your best or does it mean that you can still fast properly if you choose too?

If we engage with someone from another religion and focus and agree on the common truth in both our religions, is this permissible and is it worthwhile?

When it says that Allah (swt) is closer to you than your jugular vein

(I don't know where that comes from, I heard it in a lecture and didn't catch the chapter or verse.)

    How literal is this?

(The reason I ask is there is a literal teaching in Christianity that God is everywhere, literally, everywhere.)

What is the ruling on hunger strikes, are they permitted in sharia? Or is it considered self harm? Also, if the person dies as a result, has he committed suicide?

There is this saying/joke that also many Muslims find funny and share on Facebook etc. It goes like this: "The man may be the head of the household. But the woman is the neck, and she can turn the head whichever way she pleases."
Is this kind of joking permissible?

Kindly quote some references from Quran & Hadith.

    Re: LIVE Q&A With Abu Mus'ab - Thursday 18th May 2017 8:30PM UK TIME

I've understood majority of the scholars are of the view that a person who abandons salah but doesn't deny salah is obligatory, is a Muslim and not kafir.

But there are hadiths such as this:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Between a man and shirk and kufr there stands his neglect of the prayer.”

In the hadiths it is clearly stated that a person who doesn't pray becomes kafir.
Or is the English translation different from the Arabic, original hadith?

How are these hadiths interpreted by the scholars who say a person who abandons salah is still considered Muslim?

    Salam alaikum,

Eid is supposed to be a time for duas to be granted, what is the best time on Eid to do dua for acceptance?
the night before? the morning before Eid prayer? during or after the Eid prayer?
I think we are not supposed to do dua during the khutba, and they start the khutba immediately after prayer

If someone wants to get the reward of hajj/ umrah by praying ishraq, do they have to stay in the same spot after fajr and not talk till ishraq?

what if they want to wake family members or go to the computer to read Quran online

if they are in the masjid can they respond to salam or change rows?

Is it ok to recite shia duas, they have a dua for a paralyzed person dua mashool, there doesn't seem to be any shirk on it, it is mostly calling Allah by his names

    Salam

Should we close doors/cover vessels exactly at sunset or how many minutes before sunset?

If a woman starts bleeding should she break her fast (eat) if the bleeding starts during the day or continue fasting till sunset

if her bleeding ends during the day should she stop eating until sunset

What advice would you give for people who are around muslims who increase shouting, yelling, bad behavior while fasting, if they cannot get away from such people or tolerate their behavor

Earlier you discussed people should not fast if it will harm them due to illness or pregnancy

What if they can fast but with extreme difficulty? should they fast anyway
