    Wa Alaykumussalam
Personally i'd say in the North is awesome, i'd be more specific and say a region/city but I'm scared of giving away my location, lol.
Lots of halal food places, very multi cultural, loads of muslims, nice area, lots to do, and so forth
Tbh there are lots of Muslim friendly cities... London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leicester, Leeds, and loadz more i'm sure.
Luton and Bradford too but personally I don't know whether i'd like to live in those places lol

I have to warn you that if you are contemplating Bradford.. please youtube bradford accent and deeply ponder upon this before making a desicion..

(lol I'm j/king.. but the strong bradford accent is well ummm... yeah )

I would say Liverpool has the most unique accent in a way. Accents aren't important..

Seriously research well and do istikhaarah too, tbh lots of cities in the UK have a big muslim population.. some more so than others but I dont think its as hard as other countries.. where muslims are a lot more sparse

Re: Best place in UK for muslims?

lol that's a bit tight.. It is hard to understand though..

personally I'm not a fan of the london accent its a bit too posh, and some ppl mock the brummy accent too.. actually same with yorkshire accent especially bradistan.. so everyones basically mocking someone else's lol.

Same with scottish/irish/welsh.. they're cool but the hardcore versions of the accents can be tough to understand

Re: Best place in UK for muslims?

on the general topic of accents.. I remember once I was speaking to a scottish customer and I genuinely could not understand anything she was saying at all.. as it was a really really strong accent...I had to keep asking her to repeat it.. and she was getting kinda annoyed.. but it was awkward because I just couldn't understand her and she needed help with a query.. finally I sorted out her issue.. and I heard her say to someone in the back 'bloody british accent.. I couldn't understand a thing she was saying' lool I always thought our accent was clear.. but it just shows that the other person finds our accent equally hard

Oh yeah and our cousins in Texas.. they were struggling to understand our british accent when we were on skype! And yet we understood their accent perfectly lol.. that was weird and funny I thought it would be vice versa.. as brits accents are generally clear and US southern accents can be a bit more difficult to understand..lol

as someone who lives alone (no im not anti family etc i just alone lol im the most family friendly person you'll know) id say sheffield is a very good city to live in especially if its in a muslim area however better would be bradford as you can wear and be what you want without anyone saying anything and yes there are bad people but there are bad people everywhere.

    pros for sheffield:
    job opportunities
    diversity in muslim populations
    lots of masjids
    halal food can be found
very good education in gov schools.

    cons for sheffield:
    can get expensive
not the most social city for muslims
not much in terms of islamic events
might be travelling a mile or so for a halal butcher or food
    more fitna
less safe for practising and covering muslims women
    no islamic schools

    pro bradford:
    cheap to live in
butchers and shops very close by
    lots of halal shops
lots of muslims who are practising and covered
plenty of big ulemah and masjids (yes you have ulemah of haqq too)
    very social city for muslims
practising men and women are respected by the locals so it's a safe environment and also safe for kids
private islamic schools for girls and boys both better than gov schools

    cons for bradford:
    less diversity in muslims
    gets bad reports in media
less job opportunities (but you have leeds next door which is great)
schools aren't very good in terms of education (gov schools)

just about me i've lived in both cities and this is my experience i know leeds, oldham and huddersfield too

    hope this helps

i know what you're saying but ive been in situations where ive been stabbed and ive seen guys tease and pull women scarves in city centre, you see life one way i see it another and that's completely normal its just the experiences that we have had.
there's no double standards but there's also not putting you're self in a position to be mocked or anything, you do you're best in keeping safe and leave rest to allah, thats tawakkul.
na im just a rebel no really scared of anyone nor do i care about the whispers of the people they can do what they want.

I know, I'm not worried about that, lots of UF members have mentioned their city on various threads, a city is massive, even if people knew, no one would ever know who I am anyway, but its just a worrisome thought in case there are any creepy people on here, as cities in the UK are way smaller than say the equivalent in US, as its so much more massive.. Plus I think one time here I accidently mentioned it on a thread or alluded to it, I cant remember.. and yeah, something happened as a result of that. So never again. lol.

I didn't realise the op was asking for the "best" accent,

Thought he wanted to know which is the best place for Muslims, in uk
He's not asking about the accent, he's referring to the best place in the UK for Muslims to live. I already answered my opinion on that with some of my posts on here.. with the cities I listed etc, the accent thing wasn't serious and was a bit of a tangent.

Re: Best place in UK for muslims?

In my experience its not the City as such but the community you choose to live in

I have lived around england or spent time and to say ''london'' or ''birmingham'' or ''bradford'' is imo misleading

As someone growing up many areas, including where i live now, i would have avoided because there are better areas visually etc but I found that areas i avoided due to wanting to live in ''posh'' or whatever areas was misleading as a practicing muslim. The posher the area the more westernised the muslims engaged in ribah etc

I live on an estate that isnt posh in terms of house design etc and moved here out of necessity and due to whats around me I have never been happier and my wife and kids love it and feel safe

just ensure you move near muslims regardless of colour or race rather than your own (pakistani, bengali etc)

The poorer the area, the more Muslims become into 'drugs', 'sheesha', 'alcohol'

Your point is a massive generalisation. I know plenty of Muslims from Muslim areas engaged in all sorts of haraam. Name me one sheesha bar in 'posh' areas.

    1. Wake up early!
    2. Do it as soon as possible, you could die tonight so make the best of today
    3. Remember your life is unique, don't compare yourself to others. Use that jealousy as an energy to make your life a success"
    4. Have healthy habits. Set a time each day to exercise. Try with the mindset you're only going to do some jumping jacks for 5 seconds and the next thing you know, you're doing a workout!
    5. Read, read, read. Ponder over the Qur'an, learn more. Put the idiot box (TV) away
    6. Take note. Desires make slaves out of kings and patience makes kings out of slaves.
    7. Results aren't just worldly. Results are also about perseverance, retaining dignity, being honest, being honourable, doing good unto others.
    8. Always encourage others especially our brothers and sisters, let them know making mistakes is okay, we all make mistakes, do not ever undermine them and make them feel incompetent. This id also true for the dunya, so what if they don't get the maths sum right the first time, that is what LEARNING is.

I am just giving my own experience bro, if yours is different alhamdullilah

Not being a visitor of sheesha bars i couldnt tell you, however i can tell you the people i do know who deal in alcohol or the couple of guys I know owned sheesha bars didnt live in the areas they operated in

as for drugs and alcohol I worked in community safety for a long time and i know that it isnt just a poor or rich issue. the only difference is drug or drink of choice. the poor areas are all about cheap cider and the rich ones are all about the bottled spirits, end result being same

Yorkshire is what I'd honestly say
But then again everyone's gonna be biased
I would say the area I live in has so many niqaabis Alhamdulillah that one doesn't feel unsafe wearing this, I think
