    Syria Appeal

    The conflict in Syria rages.

Fives years on and savage violence continues to be meted out on a civilian population whose only crime was to desire a better life. Civic life in Syria today has been shattered, old communities have been destroyed and families have been torn apart.

Unending airstrikes, sieges and imprisonment have left countless Syrians with nothing. Breadwinners, homes, assets and savings, have all been lost, leaving millions in need of continuous assistance if they are to survive...

    Yemen

One of the poorest and least developed countries in the world, Yemen is facing huge political and humanitarian crises.

Around two-thirds of the population live rurally, with most earning a tenuous livelihood by farming. Acute water shortages in recent years, however, have put massive strain on families in these areas.

Like much of the Middle East, Yemen suffered huge political instability following the Arab Spring in 2011. Nationwide protests led to civil strife and an eventual government coup.

A crisis developed in 2015, however, when aerial strikes and an escalation in fighting left over 15 million people across the country in need of humanitarian assistance.

Ummah Welfare Trust is today responding by supporting families displaced around San’a, the country’s capital, with dry food provisions.

    Burma

Recent decades have been difficult for Muslims in Burma. Residing under a military junta, many endure a life of misery and abject poverty

The 'Rohingya' ethnic group in paticular have suffered. Seen as foreigners, they are denied freedom of movement, education, health treatment and even the opportunity to marry.

The worsening repression means that around one and a half million Muslims have fled to neighbouring countries, where sadly however their lives have still not improved.

Ummah Welfare Trust has been working in Burma for 10 years. The charity has rebuilt masjids and madrassahs; constructed homes; sponsored orphans and widows; installed hand pumps; and regularly distributed food provisions.

The charity currently runs an orphanage where both students and teachers are sponsored.

    Africa Drought Appeal

A massive drought is once again devastating the lives of our brothers and sisters in East Africa. Two consecutive dry seasons have resulted in lakes and wells drying-up, and once fertile lands becoming barren.

More than 15 million people in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia are today battling hunger and thirst. In Somalia, women and girls are walking as much as 50 kilometres in search for water. If the situation remains, many of them could be facing their second famine in less than a decade.

'Whosoever feeds his brother bread until he is satisfied, and gives him water until he quenches his thirst, Allah will move him away from the fire of Hell by seven trenches; the distance between two trenches is that of 500 years (travelling).'
    [Mustadrak al Hakim]

Ummah Welfare Trust has been working through 2016 delivering food to drought-hit families in Ethiopia, North Somalia, Malawi and Sudan. In response to the now worsening situation, the charity has relaunched its appeal to assist even more of our hungry brothers and sisters.

For £100, donors can provide a family with large food provisions and a supply of water (by trucking water to a local water point). Zakah, Sadaqah and Lillah can be given, so be generous and support as many as families as you can.

    East Africa Appeal

East Africa is in a state of crisis, with 16 million people on the verge of death. Another 23 million people are in urgent need of food, clean water and medical care. The combined effects of extreme drought and ongoing conflict have caused huge water shortages and plunged communities into devastating food insecurity.

The drought in East Africa has already caused many deaths, mainly of women and children. The UN has identified another 1.4 million children as at risk of losing their lives. Rivers and wells have dried up, crops have failed and farm animals have died, leaving people without food or water. Our partners Human Appeal have a team on the ground and are already responding to this deadly crisis.

Help US to help THEM and donate generously…

    Re: Emergency Appeals

    Assalamualaikum

A freind of mine is setting up a childrens charity which helps to provide shelter, food and education to homeless children in pakistan, india, afghanistan, bangladesh and africa. She is looking for trustees who will be voting on decisions about how they run as well as overchecking the annual accounts (every year). It is an unpaid role and is not demanding as you will only take part in major decisions maybe every 6-12 months. This will be perfect for passionate people who really want to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children but don't neccassarily want to be involved in the day to day work . Please PM me if you are interested.

    Re: Emergency Appeals

Salam Alakium brother, as you can see no one has replied to you and likely no one has donated. Want to know why? Because we feel these type of funds are scams and you don't donate the money to the poor.

I used to want to donate to your fund and others but recently my eyes have been opened.

I contacted many funds in the past looking to sponsor a orphan and less then 24 hours latter they replied all gutty and exited for the money about to come in. But recently a man from Gaza posted a sad heart felt message and I told him contact zakat foundation of American and guess what happened? No one bothered to reply to him. And again I sent to them and twitted them and messaged them on facebook and nothing, then I threatened to report them to the BBB and they said email us so I reported them and in less then 24 hours they replied, and they tried to save their face but it was clear they hade something to hide. So I ask you will you help the man in Gaza who needs money or will you be like all the other fake funds which we all know are fake and no one buys it.

Here is his facebook: he has 8 members of family and is living on $200 a month is what he told me: please contact him and give him any amount: https://www.facebook.com/emad.freedom.96?ref=bookmarks prove to me your true in your claim.
