    Arabic lessons (Madinah book 1)

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

I hope everyone is in the best state of health and Iman.

Lesson one (الدرس الأول) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UO9UPhP8e7w

Introduction of the programme (for those who haven't listened to it): https://soundcloud.com/user-90390419...gramme-intro-1

Download link for madinah book 1 (pdf): https://abdurrahmanorg.files.wordpre...abdurrahim.pdf

Once again my sincere apologies for the late start. I travelled, got busy and currently don't have a computer hence the long gap but hopefully the uploads will be regular from now insha'Allah ta'aala.

If you have any questions or comments, then please feel free to post on the thread or email me at: [email protected]

May Allah swt give us tawfeeq and barakah in our learning.

    اللَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنِي بِمَا عَلَّمْتَنِي وَ عَلِّمْنِي مَا يَنْفَعُنِي وَ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا

O Allah, benefit me from that which You taught me, and teach me that which will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge.
“Mu'min” is more that just a title. It is to have Imaan established in the heart and testified to by the limbs.

If you can make dua that Allah gives barakah in this that'd be awesome insha'Allah May Allah increase you in knowledge and virtue.

Notice: Lesson 2 will be uploaded either tomorrow or the day after insha'Allah.

For those who haven't done the homework, it would be great if you can complete them and send them to me for feedback. Even if you send just one exercise, that will enable me to assess your handwriting and let you know of your level insha'Allah.

Ya Rab! When you give me wealth, do not take away my happiness. When you give me strength, do not take away my intelligence. When you give me victory, do not take away my humility. When you give me humility, do not take away my dignity.

Ya Rab! When you give me wealth, do not take away my happiness. When you give me strength, do not take away my intelligence. When you give me victory, do not take away my humility. When you give me humility, do not take away my dignity.

Writing from right to left is an experience - this is where all the 'lefties' and ambidextrous brothers and sisters benefit Alhamdulillah!

I started the exercise at the bottom of page 13 but I don't know what it says in the box. The characters are abnormally stretched, why is that? I have difficulty recognising the characters when joined as it is, let alone when they have a motorway in between them.

Please help...what is it asking me to do in the box?

The box is just 4 new words introduced in this lesson. They are for you to add to your vocab list, but imo better to memorise so you will know them without having to look them up.

Yes they are very stretched but it's just a style of Arabic writing. Try rewriting it without the stretch, and see if you can recognise the letters. Deeni Akhi also reads out the sentences that include these new words above this box. Listen as he reads each sentence, pause the video and repeat after him. This way inshallah, your mouth will become more accustomed to the way each letter and word sounds.

Thank you sister, but why? Is it to do with how long you hold the sound?

No, it is purely stylistic. Imaam is slightly stretched but that is due to the alif after the meem, not the stretched font.
