Best time to work out while fasting? + bodybuilding

    :

I only just started working out on a regular (again), been for the last 2 weeks or so, and I do hope to keep consistent for a long time now.

I also want to gain weight.

What foods should I eat for suhoor and iftar? Should I stick to light/low intensity workouts while fasting? What is the best time to work out?

Someone told me I should before Fajr, but there are like 6 hours between ishaa and fajr here. I need an hour for suhoor and 45 mins+ for tahajjud in ramadan. On top of that, i am antsy when i get less than 7 hours

They also say to do so just before breaking fast (or some time after asr) but that's when i feel the most hungry, least energy, etc

I weigh very light and need 8 hours of sleep in 24 hr time

As a female you will find it hard to put on weight if your referring to muscle mass, let alone in Ramadan
Best time to exercise is after Iftaar when food has been digested properly

yeah I figured I wouldn't be able to do much in that regards during Ramadan. I was asking moreso for diet. While fasting, I easily get light headed and feeling tired/faint so I would be doing low intensity workouts anyway

Maybe after taraweeh? That's my plan.

I would also just forget about trying to make any gains and focus on maintenance during Ramadan. Lift what you left off lifting before Ramadan started, and stay at that weight for the month. You can't progress without proper nutrition, which is hard to attain during Ramadan.

Not to mention you want to focus on your ibadah during this month more than anything else.

You're like me, I feel very light headed without food and can faint. I get hungry really quick too and I have to eat now and then and keep my energy up. I get angry when I'm hungry lol

During Ramadan, my body goes to sleeping mode for longer because there is no energy going in my body. This is a distraction because I need the concentration and energy for ibadah.

Ramadan is break time and I'm not risking feeling unwell because of work outs. Not bothered about gaining muscle mass.

    Take care

I usually do 1 hour work-out at home. I was planning to do it soon after fajr, during Ramadan. It would be acceptable?

I'm not a pro on this, but i certainly know it's not a good idea to do intense exercise just after a heavy meal, also if you exercise at that time, you can't drink water again, so you may be low on water throughout the day depending on how long your fast is,
...and you will find it hard to sleep after intense exercise aswell

Don't know about you, but I lose alot of strength in Ramadan, like everyone else, it's hard to even maintain near the same strength
But as you said Ramadan is for Ibadah, we can train properly for the other 11 months

Well that would be a bit better, as long as you feel ok at that time

I usually feel hungry and eventually thirsty starting from two hours after fajr and almost for all the fasting day, but just the hour before the iftar, I feel full of energy and not hungry at all. I don't know why.

What are the best foods for bodybuilding? Also, is weight training the only real way to gain muscle mass?

Body weight exercises including all the progressions like what gymnastics start of with. Reddit has a good sub on it. Look at the side bar.

You barely need any equipment. It's tough, technically challenging, but add in som flexibility excercises and you have a healthy reasonably muscled/Proportioned physique - especially for girls. For guys body weight excercises can be a slow way to gain mass and in the end become limiting so people move onto free weights if they want to get bigger and stronger.
