Does mankind have the right to create slave labor through cloning ?

    Cloning Extinct Species
    http://www.crystalinks.com/cloningextinct.html

    http://tiger_spot.mapache.org/Biology/extinct.html

It certainly appears possible that humans might be able to bring back into existence, animals which could be used as beasts of burden for our benefit.
Perhaps a more intelligent and larger Oxen, for which to pull the plow ?

This practice could eventually extend to the Gene-splicing and cloning of the Great Ape to perform dangerous or repetitive work that humans now perform.

Comparison of the Human and Great Ape Chromosomes as Evidence for Common Ancestry
    from The Evolution Evidence Page

The four species have a similar number of chromosomes, with the apes all having 24 pairs, and humans having 23 pairs.

If man were to discover a method of introducing our human intellect into the chromosomes
of a Great Ape we could have a labor force to conduct mining and forestry projects without endangering Human beings.

What do you believe the Quran would stipulate on these activities?
Would God object to our tinkering around with the creations he provided?
Did He grant mankind with the mental faculties to enable him to take this next leap forward in our evolution ?

NO!!! I think it's a bad idea and man would trying to play "God"!!! Leave the creating to Allah (God)!!

    Peace
3:103 And hold fast, all together, unto the bond with God, and do not draw apart from one another. And remember the blessings which God has bestowed upon you: how, when you were enemies, He brought your hearts together, so that through His blessing you became brethren; and [how, when] you were on the brink of a fiery abyss. He saved you from it. In this way God makes clear His messages unto you, so that you might find guidance.

No point, it would be more efficent to make more advanced machines instead.

Is that a sly reference to having 100 monkeys typing on a computer, eventually one of them will write the next blockbuster Novel ?

stan, if you had 100 monkeys on a computer, they'd poo all over the keyboard and probably put the mouse through the screen.

The analogy is that if you had an *infinite number* of monkeys, and *infinite* time (with the monkeys not dying or needing to sleep or anything) one might by pure chance write a decent novel. Assuming too, that the monkeys would spend the entire infinite time tapping on the keyboard and not throwing it around or head butting the screen or sitting on the monitor and pooing on it (etc etc etc)

Even given all that, you'd never actually find the novel in among all the random typing of infinite length, and among the infinite number of monkeys and computers.

Oh, and the novel could be in any language, not just English.

Unless you were the novel, then you'd sit there for eternity thinking "how did I get here among these monkeys tapping randomly at computers?"

Of course, it is equally reasonable to suggest that even with infinite monkeys, computers etc, there still won't be a novel....... though there might be passages of text that make semi-meaningful phrases or sentences in varyious different languages. Though you'd have to spend centuries looking for them...... unless you were one of those sentences then you'd sit there thinking........"how did I get here? Do I have to die and go to heaven before I'm properly punctuated?" etc etc etc

Chavs should be used for slave labour. It would help to reduce crime, by getting them anti-social oiks off the street corners.

I would hate the thought of using robots as beasts of burden. Robots should have rights too!

The four species have a similar number of chromosomes,
with the apes all having 24 pairs, and humans having 23 pairs.
So, should mankind seek out the knowledge of succeeding in discovering
the extra gene which the Great Apes have over humans?
Perhaps it is merely the removal of this one set of genes that divides mankind from the Great Apes?

Now, saying that this information is known and the process can succeed,
what do you believe the moral implications of this scientific experiment would be?
Of course the above scenario is the most outrageous example that could be used
regarding these processes of creating and manipulating life forms.

What are your thought's on the first portion of the post?

Bringing back species which might have been inadvertently wiped out due to mankind's ignorance of his effect upon the environment?
Or other unknown types of beasts of burden which could be developed.

Maybe this discussion should also make comment upon the Genetic Modified Foods that the worlds food banks
    are pushing farmers to consider?
Rice that can be grown under desert conditions?

Since this is an Islamic forum, I suppose it would be best to request an answer regarding the fiddling around
with life plasm, and any guidance Islam can offer on this subject.

    islamic position on cloning:

    U.N. ban on cloning blocked

besides: isn't the unemployment rate high enough? and why not taking robots (machines) instead of cloning humans?

Robots cost a lot of money in research and development.

However, chavs, not being employed, are readily available in plentiful supply. Some expense might be needed to lobotomise them in order to eliminate their capacity for vile language and tendency to attack and rob law-abiding citizens or put bricks through people's windows-but it still works out far cheaper than the cost involved with the building and maintaining of robots.

which should be not much different from the money you spent for r&d in cloning and you have to feed, train, educate and cloth cloned people too.

don't know about chav's - whatever it is

Exactly! Especially those who are unjustly detained in Belmarsh without trial!

The answer is NO! this Human cloning is a misuse of science. PLANT CLONING for space travel would be allowed.

people have been cloning plants for centuries. My mum does it all the time. All you do is take the cutting of the roots and plant it in new soil.

Cloning of animals that don't clone themselves naturally (aka reproducing asexually) is obviously a lot more complicated and dangerous, and there isn't much point to it either.

well scientists already know. Two of the chimp chromosomes match one of the human chromosomes, suggesting that at some point in the last 5 million years, either two human chromosomes have joined together (common ancestor with 24 pairs), or one chimp chromosome has broken in half (common ancestor with 23 pairs).
