Warm water mixing with honey is used by a lot of herbal doctors. Honey has loads of benefits and it can be used in in many different ways, same with dates.

well indeed they would have, but the best of creation muhammad (upon him be peace and blessings of allah azawajal), actually told us the medical benefits of these diets, which infact are proven correct in today's medical world.

I just learned recently mushrooms are a good source of vitemin D, which really do improve eye health, and that is just one of the many benefits of vitemin d. Prophet Mohamed pbuh described this 1400 years ago, subhanallah

You are not here just to fill space or to be a background character in someone else's movie. Consider this: nothing would be the same if you did not exist. Every place you have ever been and everyone you have ever spoken to would be different without you. We are all connected, and we are all affected by the decisions and even the existence of those around us.

known before his time.... examples: (posting this since it seems people don't know the medical history of food or thinks it started with Muhammad).

Honey: The healing ability of honey can vary, depending on which flowers the nectar is from, but all honey kills bacteria. Several papyrus scrolls have been translated that specifically mention honey's healing ability. The Berlin Papyrus from somewhere around 1300 BC, documents the Egyptian's medical knowledge, as well as their mathematical knowledge and the Ebers Papyrus, written about 1500 BC, also mentions using honey and grease to heal wounds.

    Mushrooms:
The Ancient Egyptians has hieroglyphics dating back 4,600 years associated mushrooms with immortality and they considered mushrooms a special food item for royalty. For thousands of years in China, mushrooms were thought to promote health and longevity and in general civilizations spanning throughout Asia, Eastern Europe, and Russia have long been mushroom-friendly, taking part in mushroom hunting, and incorporating mushrooms in local cuisines.w

In the written record, the study of herbs dates back over 5,000 years to the Sumerians, who described well-established medicinal uses for such plants as laurel, caraway, and thyme. Ancient Egyptian medicine of 1000 B.C. are known to have used garlic, opium, castor oil, coriander, mint, indigo, and other herbs for medicine and the Old Testament also mentions herb use and cultivation, including mandrake, vetch, caraway, wheat, barley, and rye.

In Indian Ayurveda medicine has used many herbs such as turmeric possibly as early as 1900 B.C.

    http://www.apple-cider-vinegar-benef...r-history.html
Vinegar: In ancient Greece, around 400 BC, Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, prescribed apple cider vinegar mixed with honey for a variety of ills, including coughs and colds.

    http://www.explorecrete.com/nature/o...l-history.html
Olive oil: was also a valuable medicine in the hands of ancient Greek doctors. Hippocrates mentions 60 different conditions which could be treated with it, such as skin conditions, wounds and burns, gynaecological ailments, ear infections and many others.

    http://www.reikimontana.com/herbal.html
Hippocrates 460 BC – c. 370 BC: stressed the importance of proper diet, water quality, climate, and the social environment
in the development of disease. He believed in
treating the whole person rather than merely isolating
and treating symptoms. He recognized the innate capacity
of the body to heal itself, and emphasized the importance
of keen observation in the medical practice. He recommended
simple herbal remedies to assist the body in restoring health.

Wine: has long been used as a base for medicine and for a number of very good reasons, including: it dissolves medicinal compounds better than plain water and keeps them suspended for a longer period of time, it preserves medicinal compounds, and of course the alcohol provides some anesthetic effects.

    Wine/oil: Luke 10:34
He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.

    Figs: Isaiah 38:21
Now Isaiah had said, “Let them take a cake of figs and apply it to the boil, that he may recover.”

    Wine: 1 Timothy 5:23
No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.

yeah there was the Indus valley civilization and not much is known about their diet habits .

Once again missing the point , many of the past civilizations didnot know some of the health benefits of the diet of Allah's Messenger .

and even if they knew some of them the Arabs in the western region of the Arab Peninsula were not aware of many of the developments in the rest of the world except for some Traders passing through the region between Yemen and Greater Syria .

I can give a list of other healthy habits introduced to Mankind for the first time through Allah's Messenger and which was recently discovered by European and North American Doctors .

Our yardstick is Quran and hadith which are way ahead of human intellect and achievements .

So you would only be wasting your time and energy arguing with us just to prove your sore points .

Even if this was correct, Muhammad was a trader for a time... he passed though many places and would be talking with other traders and merchants along the way. He would have to.
